Some Windows 7 Screenshots

It caches frequently used programs. Cached programs are a lot more useful than empty RAM...once the RAM is needed, windows throws out the cached info.

Ah, i see, so it's not like that RAM is not avaliable to be used. Cool thanks for that.

Some PC's just won't run Vista properly because there are no drivers for them..

Ok no drivers.. Not Vista's fault hardware manufacturer's fault .

Yesterday I planned installing Vista on a PC(I like Vista and did not want XP on the system)... big mistake it was painfuly slow, thought I could get a driver for it but no luck no Vista support and never will be the Microsoft drivers just allow the device to function albeit slow.

Still a driver problem not Vista, and for being slow what's the specs of the system???

Point: Some PC's just can't run Vista even if they can run XP fairly decently, accusing somebody of not taking the time to get it to work properly is rather ignorant.

Agree with you on the point about taking time to get it working properly. Most
new mainboards and devices now comes with Vista drivers, if it does not rather not buy it.

Have been running Vista happilly since my Nvidia and my Realtek Audio drivers became nice and stable. Won't be loading XP anytime soon again.
As for this and that program not working>> Most programs that work on XP can work on Vista if you mess around with it's settings and Vista's compatibilty / run as administrator mode..

That is one of the reasons why Vista has such a bad rep....it requires a bit of a rethink.

Same thing with the harddisk btw...MS figures an idle HDD is no good to anyone so its caching stuff a lot of the time. & people freak out when the HDD is busy constantly.

I beg to differ. MS changed the whole driver architecture for Vista which meant the companies had to rewrite all of their drivers. That makes it MS's fault. Some hardware companies chose not to spend all of that money on older hardware that they no longer sold.

Some screen shots of Windows 7 pre beta.

Note the new taskbar will not be able to be turned off.

Now more sidebar as such, gadgets can move around on the screen.

how do i take a screenshot if i am using an apple mac keyboard, it does not have a print screen button?

So that is an improvement then? Shameful. A person buys a PC to do something with it, not to have pretty menus on the screen for the sake of pretty menus. At present XP can do everything Vista can (except for Direct X10 games) and that excludes any reason to 'upgrade' to Vista.

Looks like MS are ripping off KDE4s Plasma desktop.

you guys should stop being biased ! how many times have the window managers of linux ripped of features from ms and apple, then its not a problem but if ms makes a tiny thing similiar to another os then its ripping of that os !

it does, but it's just not labelled as print screen ;) should be the F14 button

thanks i will give it a try.

na, when i use my other keyboard i prnt screen then go to paint and paste the screen shop, but F14 does nothing i even tried F13 and F15.
