Someone gave xrapidx a 40D

I said "work," not "fit." From what I've read, some of the EF-S lenses protrude far enough into the camera, so even if you can make them fit, you'll lose your mirror in the process. Not something I'm about to try.
 
Questions - does the EF-S lens thing also apply to Nikon camera's? Do their FF camera's also have different lenses?

Also - can FF lenses work on the non-FF camera's?

Yeh - got the 50D. But if thats the case - I might switch to Nikon - don't really want to spend a fortune on lenses and then get a FF that can't use them.

Suppose I could always stay with this format...

Strictly speaking (and usual IMO disclaimer applies) all the best canon glass is EF which means you can use it on full frame body or crops. All their L grade glass is EF.

EDIT - it looks like Nikon DX lenses are designed to fit on their crop bodies - so while they might physically fit on the nikon full frame bodies you'll still suffer from severe vignetting.

I'm looking for the Extreme IV - any benefit to buying two smaller ones? I currently have a Extreme III 1GB

Mine would focus in the viewfinder - but the photo was very soft - I think it might of been me though - I can reproduce it on the 50D - except the 50D's focusing is A LOT better.

It's a SLR - use the viewfinder :) WYSIWYG ;)

my argument is if you have card and it breaks you'll lose it all.

I suppose - Thing is, if you loose a card, you're going to loose photo's anyway - the size just dictates the amount of photo's you loose.

I'd be terrible at changing cards - to lazy.

The 1GB takes between 35-37 RAW photo's, seems a bit low

Canon's jpeg compression is more efficient than Nikon's. Have you tried jpeg? That might solve your problem until you get that new card. The D90 can fit over 1000 photos ("jpeg normal", 12mp) on my 4GB card.

All my photos are pretty tight ;)
