Something a bit different inside, come look!

Personally I'd love to see the 50% off Fatpipe 200GB and the Bolt-On option for Fatpipe accounts :-)
Just waiting for payday and then I'm leaving Afrihost and porting all my accounts to VOX.

+ 1 for 50% off Fatpipe 200GB and the Bolt-On option for Fatpipe accounts

I would say the next special should be to simply work on the communication of network incidents and then the competence of vox support and sales staff...

Before or after the incident happens?

Jokes aside, we have internal processes for every single change on our network. We even follow change control for when our technology partners do something. Everything from DNS changes to Telkom doing work under ground. We do everything possible to avoid any incident, but they do happen.

When incidents happen, we (speaking from personal experience) have to fill out incident reports, our service centre is notified of the issue(s) and the timing of resolution (when possible).

We face a very difficult situation as an ISP reliant on infrastructure which we don't own between your house or office and our network; and most times, we are blamed for it not working or performing as we expect it to. Telkom has a notice board which our service centre is able to log into and see if there is an issue for a customer in a specific location or not.

We're starting to look at a way to notify customers directly, when they are impacted by a change, we just haven't finished that project yet.

As far as the support and sales staff which you've had issues with, the best way to resolve this kind of problem, is to escalate to us with who you spoke with, what time, what day (we record calls). This helps us do exactly what you've requested, which is to increase their knowledge and enhance training where needed. We expect the best of our team and if someone slacks, it's OK to let us know. If you don't ... how will we know there is a problem?

Great customer service must be expected, not be treated as a special.

Regards,
Chris

How about Vox striking a deal with a really good NNTP provider like GigaNews?

This has been a bit of a topic around the office lately. Tell me, what kind of content are you looking for on such a news server?

Someone mentioned local versus international on the forums and in our offices. With a +/- 200ms delay off to the USA, is it really that big of a deal as opposed to +/- 10ms to a local one?

Regards,
Chris

Call our sales team and or service centre. The Fatpipe 50% discount on the 100GB deal ends at the end of the month. Buy it before it's gone! Use it once you move. We can manage your line as well.

Hope this helps!

I'm still not 100% clear. If I sign up this month for the Fatpipe 50% discount on the 100GB deal, I will pay R164 this month (or pro-rata for pro-rata data?). What do I pay next month for the 100GB: R164 or R328?

Thanks.

Hi Chris

Firstly, the bolt-on is amazing. This is the package I started ADSL with about 2 years ago and I still have it. The recent change of including the 25 GB with the bolt-on was awesome, as I could then ditch my other capped account for daytime use.

I know a lot of people are asking for faster bolt-on speeds, but please remember the majority of people cannot get more than a 4 Mbps or 10 Mbps line. For me, the current hours that bolt-on works are the best thing about this account. For me it is useless having 800 GB of after hours data if I can only download 100 GB using all the available time on a 2 Mbps line. So please, whatever you do, please keep the 6pm-6am and weekends bolt-on going.

Thanks

you will pay pro-rata with pro-rata data and from next month you will pay R164 for 100G if you sign up before the end of this month.

I am glad that Vox is trying to involve us, but, this is also driving me away in a sense. I was just about to signup for the 100GB special, then I read this. Now I am unsure whether I need to wait for the new special as I would rather just get the "newer" package immediately instead of having to go through the troubles of cancelling the 100gb special and going for the newer package in a few days.

Chris can you please advise on this matter?

I would love a 500GB Fatpipe special, doesn't even have to be 50% off for me, just R999 per month :) I know that I can get 5 of the 100GB specials but it would get old real fast if I had to keep changing accounts.

I would also like to know if you could possibly announce the new special before the current one ends because even though I would prefer not to have 5 accounts, I would still prefer that to the current MWEB mess that I have.

Announcing the new special would solve my problem as well :D

Thanks Chris. I am really happy with the special. I do fear vox turning into an afrihost, but i am sure you guys will avoid that.

To whom exactly do we escalate sales and support competence issues. I would have joined vox about a year ago but the sales guy was totally clueless and unable to read...

Ideas for special: i currently pay R425 for 20mbps vdsl line rental. I would consider moving that to vox - 40mbps for R425, however your portal will need selve serve troubleshooting like afrihost for line iissue

This is a personal preference! I cannot tell you what the next special will be or when it will be available. The 50% on 100GB is an amazing offer that shouldn't be missed.

You can always cancel and buy the new special, but the end of July WILL happen.

I would assume they'll only announce early next month?

Should push to announce it a day or 2 before the end of the month to give people who need to give a calendar months notice more of a heads up.

I cancelled WebAfrica on the 4th of July, same day I signed up for the 100gb promo's but WebAfrica will still run till the end of August!!!

Gladly, VOX data rollovers indefinitely so I haven't started using my VOX accounts.

Latency isnt the main reason. For me it's about the extra expense if i were to move over to Vox. Most of the other providers offer it for free. So while you guys might be cheaper in terms of data, once i add the cost of a NS your accounts don't look quite as attractive in terms of total cost. The other reason is handing my details to a foreign provider of linux distros makes me feel kinda queazy.

dont mind if we pay more for bolt on on fat pipe

R60-normal

I didn't expect that kind of reply. If you're legally downloading, why not torrent?
