How about 3 or 4 times your CAP from 00:00 to 07:00 week days and similar over the whole week end?
South Africa’s biggest forum. Discuss, discover, and connect with thousands of members.
So you're saying you will get the fat-pipe + bolt-on thing right ...because you have pretty graphs and will discuss stuff with your team first?
No no .. I didn't say that. I just said that we are very aware of what our network can handle, when we need upgrades, and we don't want our customers to have a bad internet experience. We plan ahead as well as possible.
At this point, I'm not sure what the next special will be, but this thread is being read by people here and taking everything into consideration.

Thanks for engaging us in the forum here for ideas. I am loving the service I get from Vox - Thank you.
hayted said:Maybe do a Bolt-on product range (can be fixed speed or not with a fixed price):
Bolt On Premium - The one you currently run which runs from 6pm - 6am (I think this time is correct?)
Bolt On Lite - 12am - 6am - The one plebs like me would probably use. Lol
Bolt On Business - 6pm - 6am
I have no idea about pricing as you guys will know what works and how you come out every month and also whether this would be easy enough to implement. This is just a plan - probably a doff one but a lot of new Vox users are used to a midnight to 6am data usage pattern.
You are very welcome!
Don't worry about the difficulty of implementation, that's for us to worry about (and it's a lot simpler than you'd imagine).
What's the difference between Premium and Business in your scenario?
How long will it be until it's financially feasible to switch to fibre (Frogfoot) from Telkom copper?
How about Vox striking a deal with a really good NNTP provider like GigaNews?
This has been a bit of a topic around the office lately. Tell me, what kind of content are you looking for on such a news server?
Someone mentioned local versus international on the forums and in our offices. With a +/- 200ms delay off to the USA, is it really that big of a deal as opposed to +/- 10ms to a local one?
Regards,
Chris

That depends on a number of things!
1) Is our fiber close to you?
2) Can you afford more than what you pay for copper?
I think the prices are fair for the product (not released just yet as far as I know).
We haven't launched that product suite yet, once we do, you'll probably see a notice from MyBB in your mailbox if you subscribe.
My biggest fear regarding fibre is that one of the big corporates roll it out first in our neighbourhood (have already heard rumours regarding this), thus locking people into using them as ISP, as I doubt the smaller companies will want to compete directly. I don't want fibre with a 50 GB cap, that is ridiculous. And yes Chris, I am prepared to pay more for fibre. But only if we can get the same type of deal as Parkview/Parkhurst, and have open access on the lines.
