Sony Ericsson P990i

that makes things very interesting; i'd never buy another SE product, but if they insisted on giving me a P1, well, i'd take it.

i'd also buy a few more 990's first..


Do you have her details? Any idea when the P1 is scheduled to arrive? How long does this last (this is of course assuming she will stick by this, which i have trouble believing unless there is a global directive from SE)

I doubt it that SE will give us free a P1 in exchange for a buggy P990? but that's only because my faith in SE is on an all time low.

I advised my wife to get a P990 2 weeks ago. I advised her to take it back to the MTN store and state that she didnt know that the fone was NOT functioning correctly and she would like her money back.

I already advised 2 other people to stop their orders for the P990.

I can truly say this will be my last SE fone. NOW i have to worry about what to get next???
 
My recommendation is to upgrade to the latest FW: R9G007 (R6D23) via SEUS.

If you are still unhappy with the state of your phone (because many are happy with the latest FW) and have mayor bugs that implies that the phone is not performing (and have all functionality) as originally advertised, you log an official complaint on Sony Ericsson's Support website and get a reference number via email (use Internet Explorer - I've found their site is not completely Firefox friendly).

Important, in your complaint, refer to the following Sony Ericsson Developers Forum as background reference to your complaint:

(Go and read above mentioned forum to its full extend to get an idea what's happening internationally)

Give them 24 hours or so to respond, and after that, if they still don't respond, give them a call at 0861 632 222. Give them your reference number received via email.
 
Well its just a phone, Not. Mine P990 is on order together with a N95. Both have problems but both works as a phone + extras. Both is free...???? To wait for a buggy P1 and then have to pay in to get it. No Thanks. Now is the time!

No problem aqualung. It's nice to know that SE is willing to replace my P990 with a (most probably buggy) P1, but that does not solve the original problem.
My first choice is to keep my P990 with an updated relatively bug free FW.

So people, everyone here who have a P990 (and M600 or W950 for that matter), please report your bugs in detail at the following address:

Create a new bug there, and by clicking on the actual bug number fill in the fields:
- seen behavior
- expected behavior
- Steps to reproduce the bug

If your bug is already listed, click on the bug number and check if it is adequately described. If not, please edit and update.


Like aqualung wisely stated, "this is the acid test of our wish for a bug-free phone, guys." Please use this opportunity.
 
I really don't want a P1 - it looks crap.

SonyEricsson is getting a lot of unwanted attention right now - think ol' Sivander (or whatever his name is) had to cut his holiday short. :)

*Still don't know why SE can't just replace the 60MB RAM module with a 128MB one - they have done it for the P1. :confused: :confused:

I hope SE is not expecting me to fork out more money for the P1! :eek:
 
Wow. I finally decided to catch up with the forum... I am writhing and reeling here. No new firmware?!?!???

I am so disappointed. Now I watch on as the war against SE comes together - I intend on participating and being compensated at least somewhat for this - however I too have lost faith in SE.

Nokia here I come... one day... when I've managed to make up that money I blew on a fresh P990i which is now probably going to be worth less than a 6 pack of beer.

We seem to make a difference!

Metin Akbil from Turkey just got official conformation by email from his local Sony Ericsson Support that "New software development and updates provided for P990i/M600i/W950i will continue until all the bugs in these phones are corrected."

I must agree with you. Like someone said, it might just be a standard response to all UIQ3 related issues logged at SE Turkey.

Exactly. And it doesn't seem like there's good communication between the worldwide SE centres & SE head office....
 
Gyruss on my p990i

There's an old arcade game called Gyruss that I'd like to play on my p990i. Does anyone know about emulators etc that will allow me to do this?
