Sony Ericsson P990i

Nixxon, it's a great phone, I'm loving it. We are all aware of the firmware/memory issues with this phone - I don't regret getting it. Swissmanager keeps it running - no crashes so far. The interface is lovely, a lot more of the apps are functional from FC mode, the battery life is good, opera browser really fast. ( and MTN haven't branded the c&*p ut of the software :D )

MTN have gone the way beyond. I just received a call from MTN, a Mr Tulani, and guess what! He has faxed me my contract upgrade, and I DO NOT EVEN HAVE TO PAY THE ZAR649 to get the phone. And my phone is on its way from the MTN warehouse.

Please MTNDD. I'm working through our local MTN shop in Shelly Beach KZN. I don't know if you can but could you see if any stock is heading my way??? Don't Know if this is possible. But would appreciate any help.

Got my P990i yesterday. Thanks MTN for delivering as promised.

No issues with crashes so far. Must still install SwissManager to see if that makes life even better.

Congrats on finally getting the phone.

Did you guys have your names on waiting lists / back order lists? If so, for how long?

I guess they must be distributing to those who were waiting longest.

Not really bru, but you keep phoning all the times and ask to have the phone. but yes, i have been waiting for very long to get the phone, and yes, it will be delivered this afternoon by MTN distribution centre, a company called RTT.
 
The same as Tito above. Been waiting for a long time. Have been on the phone with Autopage a lot, but in the end they delivered as promised and has been a great help. MTN kept to their delivery times as well.

Welcome Back MTNDD, Pitty you can't tell when Nashua Mobile will be recieving there new stock from MTN (THATS WHAT IS HOLDING MINE UP :() ...

Nobody there has actually got a clue...

So still P990less, seemingly no light at the end of the tunnel and very Jealous of all you guys who have yours already!

I just wish someone could tell me how long I have to wait... this not knowing really stinks!!!!

Maybe one day I will get one two and then I can also brag and share cool knowledge about this seemingly awsome phone!!!!

*The king's name is on the waiting list for a P990i at the MTN shop in Centurion, but don't tell the queen.... :)

I remember someone asking about the M600i earlier in this thread. My Girlfriend received hers about 2 weeks ago. It’s a brilliant phone (even without camera). I was only allowed to touch it when she could not connect to PC. It is much underrated, probably due to the hype around the 990i. I still can’t decide what to replace my N70 with soon.

Glock26, sorry for the late reply. I have tested my speakerphone and it works fine...I presume we have the same ( latest ) firmware (CDA R3B01 ) :(

I've also been on the ph with Autopage a lot. They weren't my SP, but i requested to port to them last Fri....currently due for an upgrade with old SP, but decided to port to Autopage just for the P990i.

Just got a call now that port request was successfull...and new contract with Autopage approved...will be picking up my P990i today...finally... :D
