Sony Ericsson P990i

I've also been on the ph with Autopage a lot. They weren't my SP, but i requested to port to them last Fri....currently due for an upgrade with old SP, but decided to port to Autopage just for the P990i.

Just got a call now that port request was successfull...and new contract with Autopage approved...will be picking up my P990i today...finally...

Hey MTNDD,

Can't you jump on your guys to get the new stock to Nashua Mobile soon!!! :( I call NM every day 100 times a day to find out if there new stock has arrived and to no avail... :(

I am getting desperate now!!! I think I am the only tosser on this forum that hasn't got his phone or a glimmer of hope yet!

Maybe an ETA so at least I know how much longer I am going to wait???

I appreciate any help or info you could give this P990i desperate soul!!! :D

Guys I feel for you...hang in there.

The phone is worth the wait ! ;)

( Ask the consultant at the MTN shop in Rondebosch how I hounded her...she was so relieved when she called me to come collect the phone :p )

The best I can do from my level is if you having problems then I can escalate directly to MTNSP'S GM if I have to from other level's Autopage and so forth I don't really have to much power

But will as always try my best

MTNDD why are you not getting a P990. Are you more of a Nokia guy??? I see your getting the N95. Much better than the P990????I would wait but have gotten my self so worked up about the P990 and waited sooooo long, I don't think i could wait for it.:D

MTN Shop in Hatfield Plaza Pretoria had 3 P990i's left when they closed this evening :-)
 
OK...speakerphone problem now sorted with a few reboots.
No other major probs, but for ONE...

P990 does not run MTN LiveTV or other streaming media :-(
Took me 2 frustrating weeks to figure out why..since they don't seem to know, and I had to figure it out and tell them. *sigh*

Basically the situation is this: Mtn uses an enhanced content management system called Volantis.
Volantis controls all the content provided by the network, and when you enter the wap page, it recognises what phone you have..checks it against the compatability list, and only shows you content that your phone can support.

Yes..you guessed it..Volantis database does not have the P990 in it..so it thinks you can't view the content.

So they have opened a support ticket with Volantis overseas, and maybe..just maybe...I will be able to use my phone for the streaming that I bought it for oneday. Don't know how long these things take, but judging by the number of depts it has to go through..I am guessing it won't be too soon :-(

MTNDataDude..see if you can find out anything about the Volantis DB update, and if there is any progress?
