Sony Ericsson P990i

I agree totally.
I was lucky enough to use a P990i for a few days recently ( review model for a publication ). Barring a few little firmware issues it's a beautiful phone... I'll hold out for one ( although if the delays continue into late October / November I'll be sourcing one from overseas or else where :( )

It really is worth waiting for. ( DESPITE SE's cavalier disregard for communication with customers both old and new ).

True it seems SE doesnt reazlly have a plan to communicate with the public or the industry they in..? I am still waiting for a reply to some emails I have sent for a meeting.....

I do believe that SE are loosing market share more and more, the longer they delay the P990...it has been coming since the beginning of the year , and only getting released now.... surely they know that they are losing their clients to the nokia;'s and imates..??

heck im not going to comment on that, just now one of the SE reps goes through this forum and sees me calling their handsets anything but classy.....

Very few people have said their handsets are anything but very good, but the fact of the matter is that their customer relations sucks. That they need to know and I hope the do read this forum!

Snakepit loves your handsets and so do we! Get your customer relations act together otherwise say good-bye to your customers.

I agree that the SE Handsets are the best! I have loved every one of mine... I totally, completely and utterly agree with Neural, there customer relations STINKS!!!! We as loyal customers even find the time to B1TCH about and begg for release dates from SE to satisfy our craving and anticipation for this new technology which is slowly but surely becoming yesterdays news...

I think its pretty obvious that we love SE handsets due to the fact that I and I am sure others have waited for ages for this phone!!!

SE if you are out there... WE JUST WANT THE DAMN PHONE ALREADY!!!

So lets see some Customer Relations, perhaps a few or even just one Press Release giving us the date... and I think you will make everyone's year!!!!

Snakepit... get onto these guys in Midrand and lets get going already :)

I don't know why the networks are taking so long to approve this phone, the handset has been released for over 2 months now, Cell C have been showing on their pricelist for over a month, maybe they're trying to cash in ?

Thank you, can't wait.

I wanted to take out a ProCall 300 package with the P990i, but the MTN shop in Centurion said you can't just take the sim card and collect the phone later - all must happen at the same time.

This sucks big time.
 
Rumour have it that Vodacom claims stock has arrived, BUT not confirmed yet. Official version is stocks should be here before the end of the month but do not hold your breath for to long. My take is it will be available 1st or 2nd week in October! I am with MTN but have to wait for final confirmation!

So that could mean the "End of October", beginning of next November.
Exactly the same story we got a month ago, End of September, beginning of October. Oh yes, and the month before i got a End of August, beginning of September.
I understand you can only relay the news MTNDD, this is in no way directed at you. Im thankful for the info you are trying to pass on, as my service provider is clueless.

We're not attacking you...but we are frustrated.

I'm long overdue for upgrade with MTN.

If Vodacom does release this phone before MTN ( ie allegedly this week :rolleyes: ) I will move over to them. My service provider is not interested in me as a customer , I will take my business elsewhere.

I understand, I rely on Midrand to give me feedback regarding handsets and it's just as frustrating for me that it is for you as I want to give you the correct info

Same here. If Vodacom gets it before MTN, then I'll be a new Vodacom customer too!

Only thing that still worries me about the P990i, is the mixed user opinions on www.GSMarena.com - maybe I should just get a JASJAM?

I think I'll first have to 'play' with a P990 to convince me...

The only thing is the shlep of changing ur number :mad: And now you have to wait till first week in Nov anyway if u wanna keep it.
