Sony Ericsson P990i

Porting issue

In my efforts to secure a P990 i want to port from Cell C to MTN. Cell C have turned down my porting application even though I am up to date with payments, not on contract for over a year and all the details on the application were 100%. Sorry sir we seem to have had some technical problem with quite a few porting requests, we will investigate and get back to you.

How do I escalate this? They are holding up the works and it is hacking me off.

Glad you're liking the 'accessories'...told you, I only recommend quality stuff ! ;)

Guys, no news on the firmware front other than a new version of SEUS is out.

Very ironic - can't help but laughing out loud!

CellC is advocating MNP, but when you want to port from them, they are clueless.... :)

Memory stick games...

Ok, yesterday was a total 'noob' experience for the king and I would like to share it with you...

Memory sticks & the P990i

*If you format a memory stick with your phone, you need to copy a file (any file will do) to it, only then the phone creates the file structure on the stick. (Took me a whole day to figure than one out!) I use a USB card reader to copy songs to the memory stick & couldn't figure out why there was no music folder on the stick, after I have formatted it.

*If you have copy different songs to the memory stick, you need to do an 'update files' in media player. By default, the 'update' function was on manual on my P990i and when I copied 50 new songs to the stick, it still showed the deleted mp3s in media player. You must set the update function to automatic, or update your music file list manually after you've copied different files to it.

I'm just glad there is nothing wrong with my memory stick! Yesterday I was seriously thinking it has became corrupted(almost sounds like our government! :)) and I will have to fork out another R449! ;)
 
Ok, I've bought the SonyEricsson car charger today and it is quite funky. It's got a nice green light at the top, to show it's charging, and you can plug in a handsfree at the back - how cool is that? I've got a SE carkit, but think this charger will be very useful to people without it.

Oh, did I tell you it's also got a small light on the charger that you can switch on & off? Definitely the best car charger I've ever bought... :)

*I think a car charger is essential with the BST-33 battery , especially if you're driving from Centurion to Cape Town and get a lot of phone calls on the road.... ;)

I got a screen protector from a Vodashop @ Northgate on the weekend
Paid R49.00
Not sure how it compares to the ones from the online stores

I've just put Martin Fields screen protectors on my P990i & P910i - it works a real treat!

On my P910i there is a 'hole' in the middle of the screen (from all the writing) and if I wrote on that particular spot, the letters would just come out wrong. Now with the screen protector over it, I can write normal again!! Fantastic & I just saved myself another R1200 - my screen has already been replaced once & it was almost twice.... :)

In the sun

When I walk into the sun with my new P990 I cannot see a thing, I know it might be limited but I could see my P910

Remember mine is VLive branded
