That is a little harsh having to wait till next week. I feel for you man... Just try phone a Vodacare there and speak to a techie and beg if necessary :D

I just got a call from the courier company to tell me they are delivering my phone :D , hopefully I will have better luck... Will post.
 
Just got this bad boy...Busy on charge. Can someone tell me if the screen is supposed to stay on while it charges? It also switched on straight away and asked me for a language as soon as i plugged it in. Is this all right? Just wonder if the screen is supposed to stay lit the whole charge...

For those in CT:
The guys at Vodacare Canal Walk can do software upgrades. They also offer Vodafone live debranding, but apparently they received new vodafone live software yesterday or something, so there is newer vodafone live software available if you so choose.
On my problem:
Apparently Nashua (dont know if its only them) have received a couple of phones that were not activated on the network, thats why i got the invalid sim error. I decided to get them to replace the phone, as the vodacare guys wasnt able to do the activation. I also requested updated software without vodafone live. We'll see how it goes from here, will post when i receive my new phone

Congrats Bro.:D Will be interesting to find out about the charging screen. How long do you have to charge for?

Ja , i suppose a couple more days is worth it, rather than having endless problems the whole life of the phone.

The manual states initial charge to be at least 4 hrs, although mine showed fully charged after about 1 hr, i rather just kept it running for 4 hrs and 1 minute

Phoned Sony Ericsson and the phone screen does stay on during charging... They also said that the phone only needs an initial 4 hour charge. Much better than the good old 16 hour one we used to have to do :D

Did yours ask for a language as soon as you plugged it into charge?
 
Don't know, i asked my wife to plug it in for me, i was at work when they deliverd the phone
 
Ag long story. Got phone and it wouldnt accept my sim, or any sim for that matter. I took it back to Nasua Mobile, it seems the phone hadn't been registered on the network...
So im waiting for the swopout

MJB have you managed to play yet???? Do tell!!!:o What do you think? I have to live my life vicariously through you for now until i get mine. So put me out of my misery!!!!:eek:

Yeah, I know how you feel...

Been playing with the phone for a while now and I am really liking it. Have not had any hangs or problems as of yet. It has taken me a little time to get used to the menus and functions etc... But I am getting the hang of it now.

Look and feel of the phone is nice in my opinion. Quality feels good. Has a nice sturdy feel to it.

The qwerty keyboard, which I thought was going to be to small to actually use... Surprisingly is quite fast and nice to type on.

Signal quality seems to stay constant all the time.

Battery life... Not too sure of yet. I have been playing quite abit I will admit, but it is already down to about 43% and I started playing at around 5 on and off. Maybe it just needs a couple of charges to kick in...?

Overall I am very happy with the phone. I was worried due to all the bad reviews and comments I had read, but I would not choose any other right now. I have used the Imate Jam for a long time and I prefer the Symbian.

The only damn problem I am having right now, is trying to make a call on MTN! I changed over from Vodacom (10 year contract with them) to MTN, and my first night... I cannot make calls for about the last hour. I hope this is not a, let's say often thing.

Is MTNDD around? Can you help me???


O yeah... Call quality is really great on the phone.
