I would like to now officially rename this thread the "kingrob & aqualung thread"! 12 posts in a row and still going strong - sorry, I just broke the run! :D I know you guys can break the record again...

It is great to see people that are passionate about something - keep it up.

Lol at neuralis!:p

@kingrob

P990i + beachsand = :eek: ! ( scratches...)

I remember Vodacom always used to hand out those hard plastic covers on Camps Bay beach, to put your phone in & seal it (almost like a jiffy bag), wonder if they still do it?

Will never take my P990i to the beach! My 'backup' V3 Razr will have to do duty, like in the evenings when I go to the Active Virgin. I'm a bit lazy to do regular syncs with my pc & when I got hi-jacked last year, they drove off with my car & P900 - with all my clients' phone numbers & addresses on it. Had to basically start from scratch again. Will not make that mistake twice. :(

Thank you, Neural. :)

Hi, Stupid Question

Hi everyone, i am completely new to this thread in posting but have been following it everyday for the past 3 to 4 weeks now. It has been extremely helpful on info about the p990. i phoned my mtn store in lynwood and they have stock on the first time i tried and mtn has for some odd reason given me an early upgrade?:eek: Anyway, my question is do you think the p990 will last for about 3 and a half years??? i know the may seem like a weird question but i need to hand this phone down to someone else and they need it to be in good condition. i am getting the sp from doml.com. Would like to hear what you have to say. Thanks again for the great thread and another thanks to MTNDD for all of your efforts.:)

Welcome. The longest lasting phones are always the ones with the least functionality, Nokia 33XX. At the end of the day, year, it depends on your usage/abuse of the phone.

Anybody had this error when trying to run the update service?
java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException

I saw a guy running around in Tyger Valley this weekend searching for a pouch for his P990. Don't know if he found one but he was really frustrated because he couldn't get one with a nice fit and he was surely acting like it was the people who work at the stores fault that they didn't have it.

Thants one thing I've learned, if you buy a phone that has just been released, don't assume you will find all the accessories straight away.

PS. I must say I'm glad I took the Nokia N80. It's a fantastic phone. And for the following reasons:

It's smaller than the P990
I'ts lighter than the P990
More pixels than the P990
Larger Memory Card included
It does have EDGE as well
A better camera
And it was free :D :D

Oh yes, and I updated it's software over EDGE in a about 3minutes with no problems.;)

Can U edit office documents with the N80?

Piesang, I'm glad you finally got a phone! Hope you enjoy it... it looks like a really cool phone. :)

@Piesang
I like the for free bit. For a little bit more just think you could have a decent phone:D
Only joking, hope you enjoy your phone;)

i have found a p990i for you, please pm me your details so that i can reserve it with your details :)

Now this is the kind of stuff that makes me think that I'm not going to port to another network.

Guys like MTNDD and Snakepit gives a whole new meaning to Client Service. If only all MTN clients knew about you guys.:D ;)
