Sony Ericsson P990i

dont you find it strange that when they launched the 990 they did the launch like a year or 2 before the release so that software guys could start developing... then the phone was launched and we had nothing available but handy day and the odd app. only now are we seeing a flood of new apps which means no one was really using the 2 years to develop.... lol

Hi there guys.

I'm tying to acces the radar image of Bloemfontein on the browser of my p990 on the www.weathersa.co.za page. I get to see everything except the image. But if I check using firefox (the best browser around) on the net I see the image clearly.

Can someone try the same and reply back.

any clues what I have wrong ?

Thanks for the highly informative thread.....

I still have the older version of FM on my phone (Holding off until the next one comes along). Was not experiencing any crashes or anything of that sort. Last night my battery showed 40 perc and this morning 55perc...seems as though the phone if charging itself...:D .

The other thing is that if I open the clock to set the alarm, the phone vibrates continuously, I need to take out the battery and start up again.

Anyone experiencing similar issues.....

Hi, I've experienced the same problem with the phone continuously vibrating with the latest firmware.

The P990i uses the Opera browser. I took it for a spin a few nights ago, but it is bloody unstable and after one minute, my phone memory was down to 1.8MB.

Think I'll wait for the next firmware before I start using the browser again.
 
yeb , chows memory like it,s nobody's business.

Pity though.

strange enough , I actually manage to do banking on my phone vie the SP webportal

Guys thanks for your help have ordered the screen protectors:)

My P990i is also on its way, was a tough choice between the Tytyn but nothing drew me to it.

The 990i has character;)

The MF screen protectors from DOML are brilliant. Have mine since I got my phone in November, and screen just as new - not a scratch! Definitely worth the money.
 
does ANYBODY have any idea when i might see my firmware upgrade for voda 990s?
 
Crystal Case

Hi guys, what does the case look like with the flap removed.Does it look OK? No big gaps etc?
 
After my FW apdate earlier this month , I now have a phone that reboots (to improve performance) every now and then just as I answer a call.

It amazes me that a big company like SE can launch a phone with so many SERIOUS bugs , and then take forever to fix it in their firmware.

Hope there is a new FW soon !!!!

Tell me about it. I think we all feel cheated by SonyEricsson for releasing a pre-production mobile phone + software & using the public to beta-test it & pay R6000 for the privelage.

*I've read on www.my-symbian.com that one guy just had enough and smashed his P990i. He said he felt much better after doing it. :)
