Sony pulls the plug on "The Interview"

President Carter has every US president beat hands-down in my book. He legalized home brewing (for personal and family use) and kick-started the craft brewery industry. Respect.

Oh, and started a non-profit campaign that has virtually eradicated the Guinea worm - that nasty parasite that slowly grows throughout your body, getting up to 3 m long.

And he didn't start any wars, or in his words "never fired a bullet, never dropped a bomb." :p

This is the Obama America, spineless bloody joke, cant believe Hollywood has allowed this , probably from pressure from the white house no doubt

Yeah, man. If I could I'd vote Republican just so we can get a Team America 2.

F**K YEAH!

He continued the wars in iRaq and Afghanistan, one of his major campaign promises was that he would end them.

I missed the part where Apple bought Iraq?

I can't believe Sony and the movie chains are bowing to the potential pressure, though this is definitely good for their marketing. I'll definitely watch to see what all the hubub is about.

Back to the topic at hand - a nice comeback to this fiasco would be if Netflix bought the rights and released it on the 25'th.
I'll be honest - I watched Your Highness and Pineapple Express. But couldn't finish The End. The best thing about their movies are the trailers. The movies are normally 'Meh'.
So I didn't have high hopes for this one. But now - I would go out and buy a copy. I am going to watch this - just out of sheer bloody mindedness.

How Tyranny Came to Zimbabwe

Joking, right?

Wow, one time he didn't listen to the Republicans. He's supposed to tell them to go **** themselves each time, especially in his second term. Unless by some rare coincidence the Republicans want something that's actually good for the US or the world.

Uh, what do you think his executive orders are? His actions on immigration, on Cuban-relations, on war with Syria and Libya and Iran, on healthcare, on climate change policy, on financial reform (Dodd-Frank), on 'Don't-Ask-Don't-Tell', etc. etc.? Basically everywhere he's been able to he's shown them the finger because of their uselessness.

So these never happened?

He led NATO to invade and destabilize Libya. Gadaffi wasn't a nice guy by any means but at least there was some sort of peace under him. Look at Libya now.

You know there was a civil war already before NATO's intervention, right?

Maybe "created" isn't the right word, but he sure as hell strengthened ISIS. By ordering all the drone strikes and killing who-knows how many innocents, he just makes it so easy for the terrorists to recruit more people. How would you feel if some American drone (which you wouldn't even see btw) just bombed out your entire family one day for no reason? Most people would love an organization promising them some sort of vengeance.

The drone strikes have killed far less innocents than the war Bush dumped them into. And ISIS wouldn't not be doing what they're doing if drone strikes weren't happening.

Anyway, I'm also opposed to Obama's drone policy, no argument there.

Nothing is ever certain, but recovery was pretty damn likely. What did he exactly do to change it? He gave MORE tax cuts to the rich than Bush did. The exact opposite of what he promised and what the American people wanted. He pushed the national debt to new record highs, where he could have significantly reduced it.

The Affordable Care Act is what he will be remembered for and that's it. So much for "change".

No, Congress gave the rich tax cuts. He can't pass that kind of legislation, only Congress can. And no, recovery wasn't damn likely, a depression was probably more likely. The stimulus and macro-economic interventions saved the US economy. And the debt is because of the massive hole Bush dug them into. He put two wars and a financial crisis on the books and deferred payment till he was gone, so it fell on Obama to dig them out of it.

Meh, all the theater owners are just as much to blame as Sony... if not more.
They are the ones who wussied out.
No theater chain in the USA was willing to show the movie, Sony had no choice but to pull the plug.
So I would say... those theater owners represent the people of USA.

He withdrew some troops, and left some there. Then later sent back some more. There are still some there, is my point. There should be zero.

Yes, there was a Lybian civil war, which the rebels were losing badly. If they were winning, what would be the point of intervening?

The president can veto any law. If he doesn't, he accepts the decision of Congress.

I'm not saying Bush wasn't bad, in fact Bush was one of the worst presidents ever. What I said was that Obama is almost as bad, and spineless. He doesn't give a crap about his so-called principles.

He promised to pull them out from Iraq when Bush already had signed onto a withdrawal anyway. Then he secretly tried to negotiate keeping troops there. When that failed he took credit for keeping his promise. When Isis invaded he blamed Bush because the withdrawal was sign by him promising no boots on the ground while sending over a thousand U.S military advisors to Iraq presumably barefoot.

He led NATO to invade and destabilize Libya. Gadaffi wasn't a nice guy by any means but at least there was some sort of peace under him. Look at Libya now.

No he led that from behind.. Then abandoned them to their fate.

They say around a thousand. But that's better than torture

Negatively for the majority of people who oppose it.
