Sony recalls LCD TVs

Sony Corp. says it is recalling 1.6 million LCD televisions globally because of a defect that can trigger overheating, smoke and melting parts.

Had a problem like that with a Gigabyte LCD. Inverter transformer was causing an arc on the PCB, smelt some horrible ionization and the monitor wouldn't turn on properly. Chucked that one in the bin xD
