Sony WH-1000XM4

call quality isn't hot... but on my Macbook, I just switch the call software to use built in mic input and headphones output. Much better that way. :)
I do the same. When you use the headphone mic it seems to go half duplex.

xm4 i assume? yeah it allows to connect to 2 devices

check the subreddit for Sony, people are having a lot of trouble with the XM4's new features. I hope a software update will fix it but it looks like XM3 will hold their own for sometime longer

Only single connection compatible. They were rumored to be able to do multi point, but it got removed as that's the xm4 mains selling point.

The WF-1000XM3 works exactly like the Headphones in terms of connectivity :(
Fortunately they connect relatively fast.

Did you guys know about this?

And this (its a bit clickbaity as this is not XM4 exclusive, but applies to all Bluetooth headphones):

It's a bummer for me... My plan was to use the XM4s for WFH purposes. ie, not have to swop between headphones for both PC and phone use and also not have to change headphones for music vs calls.

Now it looks like the 2 device connection feature is kinda nerfed because you're forced to use the lesser codec.

And the point of using it as a "headset" on Windows is also nerfed because, again, you're forced to use the lesser codec.

bose wins this one just because of this

- Sony WF-1000XM3 TWS Noise Cancelling Earphones - Might have a 2 Brand new sealed for R3500

Deciding to keep or not to keep - really wanted the multi point connection :( , if anyone is interested DM me
- might just go the jabra route then :(

WH-1000XM3 on sale at Takealot.. Not much.

WH-1000XM3 - Takelaot Sale
Still on sale for R4499 at Incredible

That's a bluetooth issue...not specific to these. Forgot which combo of bluetooth standard & encoding causes it. Ran into it on a couple of headsets. Annoying AF.

Surprised Incredible is so much cheaper than Takealot on this Sale price.

I bought my XM3's for the NC and only used the mic part a couple of months later.

Was very disappointed - had I discovered that flaw earlier I would have returned them and swapped for Bose.

Would love to see a similar test that compares the airpods Pro to those 4 too.

I came across this this a while ago:
