Sony WH-1000XM4

So right now, the XM3's are literally less than half the price of the XM4's.

Those that bought the XM3's back in the day, what was the going rate then?
R6.5k at launch

Dropped to R5.5k - R6k at some places quite quickly.

Which is why it's rediculous that some places are now again selling at launch price.

So I went ahead jus got the XM3 for 5500 via TA. Probably get the XM4 later on, but I must say it is kinda lekker to just listen to something via phones and STFUing the rest.

When was this? Because IC has it for R1k less.

What headphones did you use before this? Are you using it on PC? Hows the sound quality?

Was on special on TA until We somtime, I picked it up on Thursday and saw its back to the normal 6500 something.

Both my samsung headpones that came with my S7 edge and DT990 pro (beyer dynamic 250 ohm).

BT is actually amazing, but still has the normal latency seeing it is not APTXLL*. Wired it is still good, but nothing like my DT990 pros.

For NC it doesn't switch off life and you are now in a vacuum, would be nice but I suppose that's unrealistic for now. Still, it cancels out the annoying "droning" noises that would normally make me crazy, it is closed back unlike my DT9900s so that also helps with the normal noises, but if you have music on or audio book you can practically forget about what is going on around you.

Was it worth the 5.5k? well its either that or software developer going iddqd and idkfa. Can't say that I am disappointed that I've spent that amount, overall I'm impressed, but would have wanted the mic to work without BT. Btw the calls are excellent when paired to my phone.

*I actually have 2x APTXLL aventree mini bt adapters which I have in a sender and receiver setup from my tv to my headphones. Sender plugs in va optical on tv, then the receiver is paired with it for aptxll and finally your headphones plugs into that. Now there is almost zero ms latency.
