Sony Xperia Z1

Thanks the waterproof thing sounds cool and i will be loading custom roms also....the main issue is i played with the note3 and trying to get my hands on the z1 getting tough no one has a live demo i been to quite a few stores once i played with the z1 i can make my decision
 
I also was deciding between note3 ( seeing as I had a note2 ) and the Z1 ultra. Thanks to no stock of samsung gear I went for the Z1.

Really liking the phone and its already gone through the water test :D
 
Maybe I'm missing something here, but on this site http://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=1 the Z1 camera quality is not as sharp as the LG G2, Iphone or the GS4. With that high pixel rate shouldn't it be much sharper? Nearly bought a Z1 but is a bit hesitant after seeing the comparison. Any reason for this?

The Z1 has a 20mega pixel camera. Standard settings are low, adjust the settings to get the max effectivity.

It can take great pictures :)
 
I got the note 3 and wow it's boss and the screen is damn good and phone fast as hell

Both the note 3 and the Z1 have excellent qualities.


For me the note 3 was a bit to big. The Z1 fits nicely in my hands.
I have used the camera function to take under water pics and it looks great :)

Just got my Z1 via FNB and am awaiting the 4.3 update. Nothing available as yet...Has the OTA update been made available? On Vodacom

You Should be able to install it already, Both MTN and Vodacom have released it. You have to use the PC companion to install the update though. Unfortunately you cant do it from the phone.

PC companion is downloading another update now. Downloading for more than an hour already. KitKat perhaps?
 
Can anyone tell me how's the battery life on the Z1? A colleague claims to get about 6 days on fair use (calls, camera, whatsapp)

I'd believe that.

With a fairly high call rate, skype, WA, email, gmail, browsing here and other sites the phone lasts about 2.5 days
 
That's pretty awesome! I get about 30 hours on my Note 2 and thought it was great :-P
