So not true 4K then. I knew the 810 wouldn't be powerful enough.

It is true 4K, it is the smartest way to implement hi res on a smartphone. It will use 4K when 4K content is loaded e.g. video, photos and when using VR which is much better when done in 4K, all else is done in HD1080P.

This is innovation, great job by Sony :)
A win-win situation. You get the great battery life from that huge 3430mAh battery, with HD1080P meaning no app incompatibility and then you can view 4K in 4k when needed.

Boo! Then again I'd never use my Z3 underwater. The waterproofing is just peace of mind should I need to make a call when it's raining and I can't find total shelter or should I ever accidentally drop it near some water or drop some water near it. But I'd never take it into the pool for instance.

I used my Z3 in the Jacuzzi. Was awesome.

I wonder if the Z5 is going to have the same self cracking issue ?

Urban legend...... It cracks when you drop it.

No it happens to plenty.

Happened to my Z2 after 2 weeks. The crack is totally different between dropping and the 'self crack' (yes, I've dropped one as well)

Sony needs to start using Gorilla glass like everyone else. Theirs is obviously crap (even if Z3 drop tests fared better than some other phones).

The G4 is 808 just for reference. Biggest weakness is the weaker GPU, the rest is still quite top tier. And it doesn't overheat that much.

On ARS Technica they did benchmarks which shows that the G4's 808 obtains higher benchmark scores in Geekbench 3 than the LG Flex 2's 810 chipset when both phones have been running the benchmark for a while and started heated up.

That means a 1080P device using the 808 would be a killer. Shame no one has caught on yet, or rather that no-one caught on before my upgrade. At 1080P the performance difference between the Adreno 418 and the 430 are also greatly reduced so seriously I reiterate that a 1080P device using the 808 would be superb.

Then again I guess they can't anymore cuz it would outshine their flagships which would be very embarrassing indeed.

The Sony Xperia Z5 comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 on board, comes with a 23MP rear camera, 3GB of RAM and a 5.5 inch screen size.

No it doesn't come with a 5.5" screen. Silly stuff like that just lessens the integrity of such an article.

Nice to see to though. Wish I could have waited cuz the Adreno330 on my new Z3 is definitely showing it's age...but I probably couldn't have afforded the Z5 anyways.

the Z5 premium does come with a 5.5 inch display. agreed they should have differentiated between the 2 models, the Z5 and Z5 premium.
