Well Samsung is still Android so they have that going for them. It's not just about a cool phone for me, I prefer the UI experience/openness of Android so I'd never switch to Apple or WinPhone. And it's not like HTC has produced any stunners lately so they'll probably also be gone soon (kinda surprised they aren't already). But I guess LG and Huawei are also big hitters now and they could have some cool stuff in 2 years time saving me from going to Samsung.

Mtn advertises the phone as coming soon but can't confirm when and press orders also aren't even open yet. This sucks

Spoke to someone from Vodacom yesterday he said he isn't sure when it will arrive have heard October, November or even December :crying: and i have been due an upgrade for over a month already...

Ok Sony Mobile ZA facebook page says MTN 1st November and Vodacom 9th November so look like at least another month

When will it be available?

The Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact will be available from MTN from 1 November and the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact will be available from Vodacom from the 9th of November. Regards, Sony Mobile ZA Team

How on earth did Sony get into such a bad position on the Premium? That will affect sales negatively.
I honestly haven't a clue how they managed that. I would have expected Vodacom to get exclusive right or launch on all networks. Not even sure where you can buy one without contract.

More than likely either Vodacom didn't want to bring in the premium, or MTN paid for it. I'm guessing the former is more likely.
