I was about to buy the Z2 when I saw the Z3 on the Sonymobile website.

When will the Z3 be available locally ?

The Xperia Z2 has the same screen as the Xperia Z3, with the latest model only offering a slight increment in performance and camera tech. However, if that 2-day battery life holds up under our scrutiny, the Xperia Z3 would be better suited to anyone who's always on the move.

Don't think there was a Z2 compact, just a Z1 compact that was released earlier this year...

The Z2 Compact was never made. Sony launched the Z1 Compact around about the time of the Z2 was launched. they skipped the Z2compact and launched Z3 compact together with the Z3.

Sale guy at Vodacom Northgate said ETA of Z3 is in the next 2 weeks.

There was never a Z2 compact.

The Z1 compact is decent if you on a budget though. Has the new screen tech too.

It's not so much a budget issue but more one of size.

I'd say wait for the Z3 Compact. Same size as the Z1 Compact, but with a bigger screen squeezed in.
