Any suggestions on what cover/protective casing to get..and from where? The official Sony ones with the window is ridiculously expensive. +- R1200

hey guys, i see vodacom has these phones now but to buy it outright is R9600 compared to the orange store which is R7900. thats a rather large savings. Does anyone know of any other possible places I can purchase this phone besides from the rip off vodacom store or the orange store which alot of people seem to have issues with actually getting their phones?

I got a reply from Orange store about the warranty and this is what they said ...

If a fault occurs during the warranty period you can contact the manufacturer in South Africa or contact us directly. We can organise a collection and repair your phone on behalf of Sony.
In some occasions the manufacturer do not want to repair it because our devices are European products.
All our devices have 1 year warranty.

I've phoned their call center directly , as they never answer emails.

Person I spoke to said that if the local manufacturer does not cover the phone warranty , then they ship it back to the UK at their cost to be repaired by the UK manufacturer . This only applies for first year though.

Just received my Z3 Compact from them last week . Took 6 workings days (They told me 5).

Their customer support is awful , but I've ordered about 5 phones from them and they have all arrived in reasonable timeframes . Problem is that their support staff are based overseas so don't really know what's going on locally.

They have an office in sunninghill if you are having serious problems . Their local staff have been quite helpful.

Mobilefun.com has them available. Tho the 246 delivery charge might be a turnoff.

Yeah dude, underwater pics come out very very nicely, taken quite a few on my Z3 compact

I'm at a cross roads, either I go for iPhone 6 and watershot housing... 240FPS video is awesome... or I go Z3 Compact. Problem is you don't get a water housing for the Z3 for obvious reasons, and the Z3 can't go into salt water let alone waves... which would be nice to be able to do. I mean there's only so many water shots you can do in the pool before you get bored.

It can do salt water as long as you rinse it off afterwards.

Ummm i wouldnt risk it to be honest. from sony website. The salt will definitely get into places you dont want it to go.

Nice.

Picked up mine as well. I took it in White.

Its smaller than I expected. Which is good, as I initially considered the Compact.

Comparing it to my S3, it's the similar size in width, but fits nicer in the hand due to less rounded edge. It is Taller, but the top of the screen is not unreachable. The corners are way less round, so when typing it pokes/grips into your hand slightly better than the S3.

I see it already wants an update already. But the update is not OTA. I need to update via pc. :/

It also comes with a few Pro apps with 30/90 day trial versions. some form of Garmin and AVG Pro. No idea of the cost to extend.

Nano sim tray is a Biatch to open. But its a once off.

I want to get the magnetic charger, purely for ease of use to charge in the car.
