I’d say depends on the size of the room. If it’s a large room then a sound bar will sound “nice” but that’s about it. Nothing gets surround sound like and actual surround sound setup in a large room.
one of my sites we furnished the house as well and had fitted sound bars to the lounger and balcony of the house. We used exact models but the difference was very noticeable. On the smaller balcony the sound bar was amazing, in the lounge it was ok. Didn’t quite get the same punch as it did on the balcony and I think it was due o the size of the lounge. He later had it changed to a proper setup and the difference was amazing.
PS these were the same Samsung sound bar mentioned above which is compatible with the wireless rear speakers. So not cheap or bad quality stuff which were used.
