South Afircan Elections 2009

Zuma will never be convicted. If there was solid enough reasons to put his ass in jail, they would have done it a long time ago. And with his candidacy for president the courts will find it even more difficult to convict him.

All those stuff about the judicial system being impartial and independent ... in cases as this ... it's all rubbish, believe me.

Am enjoying my new one immensly but its rather fun to point back and snigger... :D

Dude, it's comments like that that are very uncool. Keep them to yourself, otherwise you are going to become very unliked here. ;)

Discuss anything relevant to the South African Elections in 2009 (within the rules off course).

Does anyone else think Tokyo Sexwale is playing a clever game by aligning himself with Zuma and not aggressively standing against him? If Zuma is convicted (for whatever), Tokyo will have earned a few brownie points in Zuma's book, and Bob's your uncle... Sexwale for President.

I would love to see a debate between the leading candidates. That should be hilarious.

I'll use the line from Alien vs Predator (with regards to the next president)

"Whoever wins, we lose." :sick::rolleyes::eek:

Why bother?

The Anc is going to win if you vote or not.

It's not just about who wins or not.

If more people vote it could also determine HOW STRONG the opposition is going to be.

If all the whites who bitch and moan don't vote, the opposition will be weak. But if they do vote the opposition will get more seats in Parliament and thus be stronger.

and what will that achieve ? The ANC will still run the country like a dictatorship.... like they have been doing for over a decade.

So you are saying that instead of spending one day in the sun, in a line, waiting to vote, we should all just turn our backsides to the ANC and let them screw us from behind. Because that's what they are doing, even if you have your cute, defiant attitude.

Every seat the opposition has in parliament measn one less for the ANC, so it's in fact a double bonus. And evry seat they don't have makes it more difficult for them to push through ridiculous drafts like are doing ATM.

Attitude or not, the ANC will win by default wether you like it or not.

Thats why they invented floor crossing. Just buy the seats they never won. Easy as that.

African politics is not hard to comprehend...

It's people like you that are screwing the white people ten times over. Not the black politicans.

what has any of the opposition achieved ? what has the DA achieved ? absolutely nothing. they're all mouth, and no action...

the ANC has a monopoly in this country.... and it's not to end anytime soon

The DA has actively stopped quite a number of parliamentary quick law change attempts, as well as raising one hell of a ruckus whenever the ANC helps itself to too much of our money.

Without a WatchDog like the DA, we're done for.

Vote dammit.

From what I can see the ANC is rapidly fragmenting - if we're lucky eventually there will be a split and things could settle down.

So what you are saying is that even the very little opposition that there is should now also be disbanded and we should just lay down infront of the ANC.

This is not a win-lose situation. There are a lot of levels of victory even for an opposition to the ANC.

You sir, are a fool.

there's lots of oppositition to the ANC, and that's the problem. Little different oppositions. The only way we are going to achieve anything is if everybody is united against the ANC.

Where did this sudden spark of wisdom come from?

Hm. Way I see it, the ANC relies on too many factions to stay this powerful. It's a raft of twigs. Yes, it is worthwhile to vote... how many of you naysayers even bothered to vote last time around? If the opposition doesn't have support, of course they can't be as effective as we'd like.
