South Africans in Action

Updated.

Looks like its going to be another bleak day for us; going to be interesting to see how Oscar does in his race. If he could somehow sneak into the final, however unlikely, it would be a fantastic reward for him.

What time is he running?

Dankie baie. Supersport was the last place I thought to check :o

That should be the first place....like Apple...they think they own everything! lol - kidding

I have watched 4 times now. Just something really beautiful about him running against the able bodied athletes.

He might have come last...but this was a proud moment for SA regardless...and a memory this determined athlete will carry with him for the rest of his life.

Well done Oscar. You finally got the Olympics...and not just that...you made it to the semi! Job well done.

Agreed. He did the country & himself proud. Well done, Oscar.

Well Oscar didn't put in that magical performance to get himself into the final but nevertheless he is a fantastic performer for us. Its amazing that in all the races, we can hardly field any entrants except for a double amputee. Surely something needs to be done to promote running in South Africa.

Tomorrow doesn't look like its going to be any better for SA medal hopes

We got a lot of good runners but they dont seem to want to the Olympics like our comrades runners.

Keep it civil guys. Disabled humour is better left for the disabled.

So we can crack a joke at the expense of anyone on this planet, but the moment the bloke loses his legs he's protected and we must get all uppity and defensive about obvious humour? Even Pistorius has cracked jokes at his own expense. This is a pathetic jackboot decision...
