South Africans in Action

Keep it civil guys. Disabled humour is better left for the disabled.

I am disabled just not physically, so I can do the humour then.

Was going to try for disabled olympics walking/gynastics but never had the time to train when younger, too much stuff going on so great to see him making us proud.

He's an Olympic athlete. He doesn't want anyone's sympathy. Wanting to compete with able-bodied athletes shows that he wants to be treated the same as everyone else. I'm certain that he'd be more offended by being protected from jokes at his expense than by the jokes themselves.

QFT!

My sideact gripe about him: He wanted to compete with able bodied people - cool, done - but he's still gonna stay on for the Paralympics and klap medals.
I think that's a bit "twee gevriet" - run with the big boys and stick to that.
Obvious he's faster than most in the Parlalympics - why go there?
Now we'll (and I say that loosely) still gonna be so proud of him for gold at the paralympics

Also - thanks Oscar for being such a great ambassador for British Telecom

Telkom not an option? SMH

Quick antowan - head over to this thread and delete practically every single post in the thread - http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/453689-Stevie-Wonder-files-for-divorce

Apparently cracking some humour at the disabled is against forum policy all of a sudden. Wouldn't want a group of over 18 adults to come across a joke about him not having the legs to make it. That would completely ruin everyone's sense of morality. Chop, chop - delete the Stevie Wonder jokes. If I come across any other humour on the site I'll be sure to report it. Just in case we start taking ourselves too seriously...

Updated. Looks like a bleak Monday.

I think our best bets now is going to be Caster and Viljoen. If we can squeeze them hard enough and get a gold nugget to drop out then I will be extremely happy with the 2012 Olympics!

Still trying figure out where the echelon saw 12 medals coming from.

Olivier made the semis.

Yeah, didn't see the actual run buts its great that he made it through. At the moment, I don't even mind not competing for gold in track events, we just need some actual athletes participating. For most of the races, the most random of countries manage to field athletes yet we can't seem to muster up anyone.

In case anyone wants to know, tonight at 8:20 is the woman's 200m race. There is also the 400m final and 400m hurdles

Updated.

Sunette Viljoen, one of our realistic last medal chances is in qualifying today; lets hope she is in good form.

Fourie ran a SB in qualification of the 110m hurdles. Hopefully he can improve even more and make the finals.
