Spammers beware

The Internet Service Providers' Association of South Africa (ISPA) today released its first 'Hall of Shame' report naming some of the country's top spammers at iWeek 2008, current on in Bryanston, Johannesburg.

Well done to ISPA for naming the spammers and taking them on. It is great to see this pro-active attitude from an industry body.

is there anywhere we can see the whole list? or did I miss something in the article? I wanna spam them back! :p

There's like, only 5 people on this list. There's gotta be more than that.

Yes, we're tracking quite a number of additional spammers, thanks to spam reports submitted by ISPA's members. However, we have some quite specific criteria for listing someone on the public Hall of Shame, and not all of the spammers we are tracking meet all of those criteria.

If you know of any others then you need to get your ISP to report them to ISPA.

This will certainly help -- if you get spam from a local source, and your ISP is an ISPA member, please ask them to report the spam to us. We will be able to use these reports to compile future issues of the Hall of Shame.
