Spammers beware!

the idea is good, but not much affect on spammer outside of SA. btw didn't they try this a few years ago.....

Blocking the spammers

The problem is that I don't see this changing anything unless ISP's start blocking emails from people on the list. Its nice to know that they are a spammer, but what next?

ISPA members have had the option to block these spammers since the internal Hall of Shame was instituted nearly a year ago. This has had the unfortunate side effect that some of the worst offenders no longer get reported by those conscientious people who both implement blocking and take the trouble to report spam received!

The benefit of the public Hall of Shame is that not only can ISPA members block these spammers if they so choose, but so can others who aren't ISPA members. We have already seen the second benefit in action - spammers listed repenting of their evil ways.

The primary function of ISPA's Hall of Shame is not to act as a blocking list - although people may choose to use it that way, which no doubt improves its effectiveness - but to act as an educational tool. A significant amount of SA-originated spam seems to have been sent through ignorance. A company gets a new marketing droid who thinks that sending out spam to 1000 people is a cool way to get noticed. When they are slapped on the wrist, most of them change their ways.

The exceptions are those that we have listed in the Hall of Shame - companies and individuals who continue to send spam.

excellent to see ISPA brining such siffies to light.

I can vouch for spam received from both the Peer Group and Dynamic Seminars.
I've requested on numerous occasions to have domains & email accounts removed from the above but with no success. I make a habit of reporting all spam to spamcop but even this does not appear to help as the culprits register new domains, and sign up with new ISP's, and avoid being blocked.

Not surprising that Brian Jude did not respond to any request. I have personally contacted him and requested that he remove me and no surprises that I still receive his spam.

At least they give us all the ip's these <insert obscene words here> guys use so we can add them to our spam filters.

Just a pity my company uses our isp to filter spam. They do a good job for mostly but for some reason they haven't added Dynamic Seminars to the filter list yet.

I've had two spam messages from "Dr" Jude in the past two weeks, what can we do about these as the hosting is done internationally?

noxinoobin. The tool you're linking to is exactly _FOR_ email marketers. We don't want that crap here thanks.
