I'm currently rounding up all my speed fines because last month I received an unexpected 8 month old speed fine payment request. (What a pain).
Anyways, I noticed that you can trace speeding infringements using handy sites like payfine.co.za and others, but they do not include speedfines all over South Africa.

Take my latest surprise for example. I was caught speeding on the N1 in the Northern Cape (of all places). I received the fine 8 months later. It's got to a point where they are threatening with court cases and this is the first time I hear about it. But nevertheless this is not my question.

My question: Is there a way (by email, fax, website) that I can find out all the fines against my name, once and for all?

Please don't take this the wrong way, but how on earth does one build up a whole bunch of speed fines, unless you are as stupid as Julius Malema?

At some point or other, do you not realise that speed limits are here to stay in South Africa? Wasting money on speeding is like taking your hard earned bucks and setting them alight!

Agreed.
In close on 20 years of driving, I have gotten two. Total cost R200.

8 months? You know that they are supposed to produce to you the fine within x amount of days before the fine may be declared invalid?

Yup...I got nailed in January 1990, doing 134 in a 120 zone simply because I was late for a meeting. After coughing up for that one, I swore that I wouldn't waste money like that again.

If you manage to drive for such a long time a think that you'll never get a speeding fine, then you must wake up and join us in the real world. What are you like 19 years old?

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Sometimes these things happen. I've been driving for over 10 years and managed to only get about 6 or 7 speed fines all just 20-30km/h over.

Been driving since I was 11 and got my drivers licence on my 18 th birthday...that was 40 years ago............Speeding fines are a waste of money, that is all that I am saying...if you are too arrogant to realise that you will be fined for breaking the limit then I feel sorry for you.

Look who is talking Mr. "I was driving since I was 11". You just had to get another bite in, did you? Please if you are as old as you say you are, ACT IT. Don't judge me when you're clearly not the one to talk.
You know what, I was OK with the fact that you played all high and mighty on me, but when you slapped in the distasteful comment about Julius Malema, you just pushed my button.
I asked a simple question to get information on paying fine(s). Your childish, sarcastic comment was uncalled for.

Efindrake, I think you are the one who should grow up. I said that fines were a bloody waste of money, and brought in Malema, because he obviously doesn't mind collecting them. as for the age bit...you asked me if i was 19...don't know if 19 is very old for you...possibly it is, judging by your rather petty remarks.

Provocative and tiresome. I think I'll pass. I hope you have a great day.

Where can one check for outstanding tickets? - those pink slips, for parking illegally/etc (not speeding fines)

i've been on one of those sites but they all say "fine not found" or something? (and the "fine number" I type into the field seems to be correct, as it gives no error before searching)
when I get a new license disc, the printout also says "0 rand in fines outstanding"

As long as you get 0 rand in fines you are quite OK! :D

As for the OP bragging about his many speeding fines, I honestly don't know who he is trying to impress.......

Maybe he wants to join people like JubJub with his 10 outstanding fines and a murder rap to boot?

It is very easy to not speed, and on the odd time that you do, pay the fine and move on. Accidents do happen, but 8 fines in a short time shows contempt and disrespect for others.

+10!

This thread is fail. Reasons:

1. Nowhere was any mention made of OP having "a whole bunch of speed fines" - he was merely trying to determine whether there were any fines he was not aware of.
2. There was even less mention made of 8 fines in a short period of time. Whilst 8 months is a short period of time, it is a long period of time to wait for a fine. The number of months waited to receive a fine does not directly correlate to the number of fines.
3. A sales representative spending 4 hours a day on the road and traveling tens of thousands of kilometers a month all over the country is more prone to getting fines than a 50+ year old desk jockey.

Perhaps we should all learn to read and stop jumping to conclusions?

You need more roughage in your diet.....a breakfast of oats with some raisins added for taste will do you wonders.....less caffeine might also be good....de-caf maybe??

Why? The more you drive, the better you should be getting at it. The better you drive, the less mistakes you will make, not so?
