No catch! Spiceworks is awesome and much loved and recognised in the IT industry.

Used it to provide helpdesk facilities to about 150 users. Helpdesk is excellent, would recommend it. Catch is that it is advertising supported. Admin's and techies will see banner ads after logging in. Overall, its worth it IMHO
 
Good will give it a shot. Just a bit cautious, it might install some spyware etc... (usually happens).
If Gary gives it a thumbs up then its worth it. @shakes thx for input as well
