So question.... How is this the best Marvel movie ever made.... I mean, 50% of everyone days, wtf. I don't get the hype.... Please enlighten me

Dying is just a temporary inconvenience in the Marvel universe.
 
Yeah finally some real stakes in a superhero film. Didn't you find that refreshing?

Okay so here's why I enjoyed it..

1) It was very well thought out. They've been teasing Thanos since Avengers 1, and a lot of the MCU films have been related to the Infinity Stones in some way without making it clear that it was tied into a single storyline until Infinity War. It also built on the dynamics from Civil War. It's the first time that it actually felt like all these movies were operating in a single universe with a coherent story.

2) There were some heavy feels, especially with the Gamora plot. Thanos sacrificing her, then Star-Lord losing the plot and screwing up the whole battle because of his grief. And Tony Stark's bit at the end, Loki's death (which feels like it will be permanent). Vision's death... some great moments in there.

On the bad side it went on too long and there was too much information to digest and too many side-stories.
 
Fanie, which is your best marvel movie. For me Infinity war is good as a story that makes sense but it is close to winter soldier in the best marvel movie in the universe thus far
 
Best? I might have to get back to you on that... One of the better ones? Sure.

Everyone will have a different take, but for me, I'd still take The Winter Soldier above the rest. Second, third and fourth look like Ragnarok, Guardians 1 and Civil War.

Winter Soldier is alot better, IW was entertaining with the cast but it seemed like they made it just to make it. If that makes sense. Pretty sure they'll bring most of them back making the deaths meaningless.
 
Even though I've seen all the movies I watched this the day before I went to see Infinity War and I think it really helped to get everything back fresh in my memory, I loved Infinity War.

We might lose Loki but I think Heimdall's done and I don't think Gamora's coming back either... Still, its Marvel, so there is that.

Also, I think Marvel dropped the ball with Spidey and T'Challa in IW. Folk *know* there are movies in the pipeline, so keeping 'em around would have been my very first play in the keep-folk-guessing-whos-really-dead game.

Bad call Marvel. Bad call.
 
It was awesome. Thor got a new weapon and everyone is sour cause their pathetic hero didn’t do much in that movie.

1) you see, my memory is as good as a gold fish... i couldn't even remember where thor lost his eye (wife reminded me)

2) yeh, feels were thick and fas... well, slow. wife didn't enjoy it because I pre-empted it with "people say it's the best ever" but what we got was totally unexpected. she automattically goes to "kark movie" but overall I did enjoy it, even, or because, it didn't follow the normal formula.

Yeh it was long, multiple bathroom breaks and interruptions because of the length was a bit off putting.
 
Winter Soldier was the the best Marvel movie. This is 2nd or 3rd because Iron Man was a very good movie.

The hype is Thanos, he killed half the universe. If that is not hype enough... He actually went through with it.

All the heroes want to save "everyone" but here this guy took out half the universe. THE UNIVERSE.

maybe i i'm still busy ingesting it?? after the movie, as the credits was scrolling, i was like.... 'was that it???' based on peoples comments on the interwebz.... but the more i think about it... the more i think it is very very good... and probably my favourite serious one.. (still a guardians fan)

Pretty much all that...I watched it awhile back so my memory might be faulty but those were pretty much my thoughts.

While it did raise the stakes (however temporarily), Doctor Strange's weird foreshadow'y comment plus just the relative noobs dying (apart from Nick Fury, Maria Hill) meant the ending wasn't as shocking as it might have been.

I went to watch it in the cinema, Xtreme 3d (which I don't normally do but was worth it) shortly after it come out, spent the whole time leaning forward and waiting for the next scene.

Sometimes other people hype a movie too much, and it disappoints. Only on 2nd or 3rd viewing at home does the value truly come out.

Also luckily for me, I have a great TV/Movie memory, so all ties together easily enough.
 
I think due to fact that everyone important 'died' it elevated this movie to this epic Shakespearean tragedy. Unfortunately its a false tragedy because the cash cows have to make a return one way or another.
Watching it for the second time the idea that Thanos is just another cliched cgi character becomes glaringly obvious, a far cry from
Winter Soldier who was properly fleshed out and plays homage to some great villains in classic literature and film.

And then there's the cringe-worthy Scarlett-Vision love story.
