Spore has landed...

How can ppl stil say xbox and ps3 is better then pc???? If all the games on ps3 and xbox is made and tested on a pc.at 1st.
according to one test 88ultra + dx10 has better gfx power then a playstation3.But the ps3 still has more processing power.:/

Most ppl just prefer xbox and ps3 becos they don't have the cash or the time to upgrade there pc.And that is one advantage the console will always have over the pc.but
If it wasn't for pc , the console will never have been here in the 1st place.

PS am not against the console i just don't agree with ppl saying the console is the better preforming one.

the money i spend on hardware = the money xbox owners spend on games.

in the end though, I sit with newer techmology(lol), and a better pc.
xbox owners just sit with the same 2 year old dusty xbox, with a couple of scratched CD's.

the point they're making is that you don't have to upgrade the Xbox after 2 years to still be able to play the games that come out, whereas in all likelihood, with the PC, be honest, at least a new card would be looked at.

its not an excuse it reality,gears1 2years old now ran smooth gears 2 and farcry 2 when they come out will look damn pretty and run just as smooth, lets see your 2 year old pc run those games as smoothly or as pretty as xbox will.

Well, it depends what PC you bought 2 years ago. :)

My PC ran GOW1 on full graphics, and I can guarantee that it'll run on full graphics when they bring out GOW2 for the PC.

Hell, when they finally release GOW3, if it's still on the XBOX360 and not some new level XBOX, I'll be able to run that as well on full graphics.

Why, cause it's been optimized to use the hardware on an XBOX360 which specs aren't as good as my PC.

ANd anyway the PC version of GOW was waaayyyyy better....... we got extra levels. :p

Now can we please get back to Spore. I wanna know if it'll be worth getting.

it will.

not sure if the galactic is worth the extra dosh though?

how much more should the galactic edition be? guestimate?

Depends what pc you initially bought and what your standards are. You can continue running most games on a two year old pc but you have to drop details and resolution.

They might not have to upgrade their xbox's but they pay double what we pay for new games.

I will be sticking with pc gaming. I like getting shiny new hardware.

like I said, I'm a fanboi of both ......... but not everyone is sitting with a gaming monster PC (nor can they afford it) so it makes sense to get an Xbox instead (the cost of the games will be offset by the lifespan and not having to upgrade). I love my 360 and I love my 11k Monster ........ :D

I got mine for R362 on pre-order, and I am quite pleased with the packaging and extras. I am a little annoyed that the "Building a better being" DVD is not included. But if 'they' want to be like that I'll just download the thing.

So what we've learnt from our amateur reviews in this thread:

- The game is short
- Supposedly plenty of replay value, but that cannot be confirmed in such a short period of play time
- Fun
- I'm going to assume it is not challenging (Are their difficulty settings?)

The challenge will probably increase with online play. I'm not sure but I think you can take on other civilisations/creations in online play?

Dunno if this has already been posted...

8/10.

The Good

* Intuitive and comprehensive customization tools
* Oozes charm at every turn
* Impressively broad scope
* Great audio and art design.

The Bad

* Individual gameplay elements are extremely simple
* Early stages aren't very engaging.

so basically another Sims but with creatures :sick:

Thanks for this...hmmm...not sure about this now.

What I don't understand is why didn't they make it "live" like an mmorpg?

i don't wanna play against AI when i try to blow up my friends planet!

LOL my 3 year old computer has the right specs to run farcry 2... I honestly don't know why FarligOpptreden has to upgrade every few months...

The Creature creator was there to give you a kind of a 'review' of the game as far as I see it. Like the Sims body/editor thing that is available. It allowed you to edit your creature with all the parts available but it now makes out an important part of the game. In Spore you use the built-in creature creator to 'evolve' so to speak.

So if you don't have the creature creator, will you be missing out on anything special? I'm assuming that the in game evolving creator takes longer?

Can you just dump creatures from the external creator straight into the game, getting an advantage or something?

exactly my point - consoles get outdated, so do the graphics.:D

(hence the reason for Crysis on PC, not on console - it's can't proccess it like a 9 series nVidia or 4XXX Series ATi)
pc's also get outdated, and you have to get a new one, the only diffrence is the pc you update more often and costs more.

It all depends on hom much you games you play.

If u wanna play 1 game a year, go XBOX.
If u wanna maybe play 2 games or more a month, go PC.

OK - hear me out now.

Basically, if you ONLY play 2 games a month that equates to +-R1200 per month, which is R14,400 per year.

R14,400 a year is more than enough to upgrade to the newest tech, EVERY YEAR Man. plus you get to do other cool things which that little grey box can't.
