When you start off your sentence with "you men" you've already lost me because it means you're getting emotional and will tie previous experiences into an unrelated incident.

It's not fair to tie previous events which this man was not directly involved in into your fabricated narrative of men always talking down to women or intimidating women. I'm a man and I can't be held to account for your past experiences, because everything I say to you will automatically be filtered by your "men are x with woman" mentality.

We are here debating an event that occurred between two human beings and who is to blame for the events that led up to the disgrace we bore witness to.

Okay, wow! Even if we disagree on other things, I applaud you on this post.

No, it would not.

This thread has received far more attention than the woman that was raped in a taxi (non-white on non-white) or the woman that was threatened by an ax-wielding lunatic at a complex (white on white). And the reaction to the three incidents is mirrored in the media and social media. Outrage over two idiots at Spur; some play for the poor rape victim (the one we should be the most outraged about) and no sh*ts given about the ax incident.

The agenda is plainly obvious. The moment it is black and white there is a huge firestorm, no doubt fueled by the media, both mainstream and social. Saying otherwise is willful ignorance.

The guy at Spur was a tosser, the woman's behaviour can be deemed somewhat acceptable in light of her feeling threatened, but even she turned it in to a race thing and then everyone went with it, exploding nothing in to a race war across social media.

This thread received more attention, not because it has a racial angle, but because in the other case everyone is in agreement. Unlike here. But with a handful of people here the victim mentality is so strong that they tend to constantly make themselves the victim, even when they are not.

And as I said to another poster earlier in this thread, if you keep shouting wolf nobody will take you seriously the day that the wolf really is there.

It has actually been obvious from the beginning. Even calling a spade a spade didn't get through to them. Some people still live in the past, and I sadly don't think that will ever change.

She's already made it clear that she thought it was a racist attack on her, so instead of doing the right thing and saying she'll have a talk with her kid, she told him to "fek off". What kind of mother does that?

If some kid bullies mine, and upon my kid retaliating the parent comes to complain, I will also tell him/her to FO.

You are now really grasping at straws, where is anybody demonizing this man? Everyone is debating what happened. If he feels demonized that maybe he has to reconsider his behavior.

Its not about rights or laws or anything, its about being a damn adult ffs.

BOTH parties are to blame for the situation escalating the way it did. He started it, and she continued with the screaming and ranting and he raised to the provocation. Its not bloody rocket science.

So he both started it, and raised to provocation. Looking at that video, he was angry and threatening even before she started screaming at him. He expected to put the little lady in her place and unfortunately for him he bit off a bit more then he could chew.

You men just don't get it do you. You don't get how it feels to be threatened by a man. How threatening a man can be. And the issue every MAN commenting on this has is with her not being sufficiently submissive. She shouldn't have said ... She should have ... it all reflects on your attitudes as a man towards an 'uppity' woman who doesn't know when to be quiet because the MAN is talking.

You have no idea how she felt with a VERY LARGE man leaning over into her space, speaking in a threatening manner - at first in that patient TONE abusive angry men get when they are talking to a woman - and then escalating through finger pointing, rising anger, grabbing her kid, walking away aggressively and then turning back and shaking the table - its frightening even to watch.

For me, I don't agree with her language, but at the same time kudos to her for not backing and being submissive in the face of his aggression even if she was terrified. And she has said she was terrified. And her kids were terrified. As they should be. With that huge man behaving like that.

And we wonder why South Africa has one of the highest rates of violence towards women and children.

Slow down a bit there, not every man. Just a few, and those seem to be cut from the same cloth as Viljoen.

I don't think it's about trying to demonize the guy as much as it is to try get a bit of balance here - the way some here attacked the woman from the get-go was pretty unsettling. Before the full story even came out there were posts here saying she didn't know how to use a condom, that she looked like a Tik addict, etc. Some here took the guy's side and that was that.

Problem ultimately is that this is important to the world at large, and it is a topic that does need discussion as it does unfortunately tie back into the SJW narrative that this world is currently suffering with.
