take a long hard look at your stupid as self as you keep arguing a completely pointless topic for another week.

you are all sad sacks and regardless of what side you are on, what you are arguing, if you are being logical or believing the huisgenoot. you are all marked in my books as people who's opinion I will never ever trust on this forum again, congratulations, you proved to the forum you have no understanding of what is really important in the world
.
What happened in that spur happens everywhere everyday. This is just one of those great examples where social media grabbed an insignificant event, ripped it to pieces while intensifing hate between social/racial groups on a mega scale. A toppic which might need some serious discussion would be wether social media does more good than bad or visa versa.

Look, his holiness with awe inspiring and divine wisdom has passed judgement on us! Oh woe to us for not sharing his views on what is or isn't important, woe to us mere mortals whom have inspired his wrath.

On a serious note, you don't like it, move along you condescending, self righteous twit. Who are you to decide what is and isn't important? Who are you to decide what is defined as time well spent for us?

You win the moegoe of the year so far award. Congrats

You men just don't get it do you. You don't get how it feels to be threatened by a man. How threatening a man can be. And the issue every MAN commenting on this has is with her not being sufficiently submissive. She shouldn't have said ... She should have ... it all reflects on your attitudes as a man towards an 'uppity' woman who doesn't know when to be quiet because the MAN is talking.

You have no idea how she felt with a VERY LARGE man leaning over into her space, speaking in a threatening manner - at first in that patient TONE abusive angry men get when they are talking to a woman - and then escalating through finger pointing, rising anger, grabbing her kid, walking away aggressively and then turning back and shaking the table - its frightening even to watch.

For me, I don't agree with her language, but at the same time kudos to her for not backing and being submissive in the face of his aggression even if she was terrified. And she has said she was terrified. And her kids were terrified. As they should be. With that huge man behaving like that.

And we wonder why South Africa has one of the highest rates of violence towards women and children.

No... you don't get it

Why would you continue to antagonize a person who has threatened your child ?
The guy was walking away... why did she continue to scream at him.
Who's interest was she looking out for ?

She was standing her ground. She was going to show this white man that she as a black woman will not be intimidated be tge likes of him.

And the alternative is to take it? She stood up for herself.

Actually I meant 'you men' broadly because I don't believe any man can really understand some things about being a woman, just like I don't believe women can really understand some things about being a man.

I don't understand what it is like to have a penis. I don't understand the pressures of being a man. I don't understand men's aggression, even if I understand the biology of it.

Things that are common to both genders I can understand, but I don't always understand a man's reaction to certain things.

And there are things men don't understand about being a woman. In particular I find that men just do not understand a woman's physical vulnerability. Yes sure you can go get self-defense training and that kind of stuff, but men don't have to. Don't even think it is necessary. No-one says to a man - well go get self-defense classes. No-one says to a man - carry a self-defense spray, learn how to put your car keys through your fingers so you can rake at an attacker. No-one says to a man - don't park too far from the building, make sure the area is well lit etc. Men just don't walk around with that constant awareness of their weakness. And if a man does feel weak and threatened he responds with aggression. If a woman responds with aggression (like this lady did in the Spur) she gets attacked again for doing so. It's wrong. It's unladylike. She should have [fill in passive non-aggressive response of your choice]. Even other women will attack her for her 'aggression'. Yet if, in the same situation, a guy stands up and gives as good as he gets he is applauded for it. Yay go get him! Hit him!

The double-standard and the bias is so deeply entrenched most, if not all, of you aren't even aware of prejudiced you are. Women are not allowed to stand up for themselves. Not allowed to defend themselves verbally. Not allowed to assert themselves.

Even worse the actions of an abusive man are all too often defended. She aggravated him - no he was aggressive from the start and was only going to get worse no matter what she did. She didn't stop - why should she? Was he? She swore at him - well so is his male ego so fragile he can't take it? He certainly expected her to sit there and take whatever he said. I can go on. The bottom line remains - this man was angry abuser - every sign is there - and nothing was going appease him.

If you can't see what he was doing that doesn't make you right.

This guy does a good job explaining the gender issues.

Haven't watched the video, but technically you are talking about sex issues, not gender.

Sex - as in physical sex - will determine how large, aggressive and strong a person is. A transgender female, for instance, could have the strength of a man with the mind of a woman, and she would in theory be as intimidating as a similarly sized man.

After all, as we are told, sex determines physical characteristics only.

How strange it is that an Indian man intimidates a white woman (whose child can be heard crying in the background) with an axe, and there's no outrage...

Because I did not post my outrage on MyBB does not mean I was not outraged at that old toppie's disgusting behaviour.

Suppose a man was mugged. Mugger was armed with a gun, and took away this man's wallet, watch and cellphone, but left him physically unharmed. As the mugger was walking away, the man shouts to the mugger a racial epithet targeting his particular race (whatever that may be).

In anger, the mugger turns around and fires a shot, killing the man.

Imagine you are the man. What would you have done differently?

This.

Slow down a bit there, not every man. Just a few, and those seem to be cut from the same cloth as...
Agreed, most men are ashamed of this coward being referred to as a "man".... Surely there's a better term for sub-men like this.

He's a coward the end, anyone defending him here knows that. He would have never tried that with a man. I would have certainly left him bleeding. If he grabbed my daughter like that I would be in jail.

I could crush a bird in my hands, but i'm not a cruel coward. No different from beating up on a woman.

I'm sorry, but that was the worst case of virtue signalling and white knighting I have ever seen. The man involved in the altercation was a monster and his actions cannot be justified, but we also can't ignore that there was a beginning, a middle and an end to this whole ordeal. If there was no beginning conflict, there would have been no end result and judging from eye witness testimony, it was the woman who became belligerent first. His actions after this are inexcusable, but some of the blame must be laid at her feat for this. If she had just appeased him all of this would never have happened and before you come running in here thinking that I'm being a bigot that only wants the woman to be subordinate, you have to be realistic in a this situation. This man presented a danger to the entire table and her only goal seemed to be to antagonize him. How does this protect the children in any way? she could have simply got rid of him, then approached management and had him removed, but she decided that their safety wasn't important. The man was being very intimidating and was obviously upset, why make the situation worse?
