Spur Steaks Suck!

I hope not by choice.

Work dinner in a town where you have a pretty bad Ocean Basket branch, two crap local restaurants, a Spur, a KFC and a few pizza joints.

Definitely not by choice! Hopefully, I catch this up by being at Wombles tomorrow.
 
Had dinner there tonight.

Looked like the steak has marinated in brine (salty as hell inside) and same for the basting (salty at the extent that I had to take out the basting from the top of the steak). I could barely finish it because of the salt.

I'm sorry but I never had a "good" experience at Spur, it's passable at best. It's consistent the same way than McDonald's is.

Do you even know the definition of defamation? Can you quote some examples of defamation here?

Did you bring your complaints to the attention of management. Further it to head office ? Please post your communications ... and should you not have any luck or resolve you welcome to PM me and I will assist in escalating the matter .

Alternatively the store owners details can be obtained in severe circumstances.

Before taking on the task of defaming a brand on a social platform try contacting them directly voicing your concerns and going in to view the problem suggest a solution or justify your complaints .
This but don't think the faceless keyboard warriors on here have time for that. Just taking 5 seconds to do a EFT is too much.

I don't see anything in this topic qualifying as such. Spur steaks suck is an opinion, and cannot be qualified as accurate or false as it is subjective.

2. The branch manager has over the years several times (around 10 I'd say) replaced steaks (they cook it very often too much, not enough, once or twice they smelled completely off) but has never shown any ability to have consistent food or any interest in making a commercial gesture.

I'm not your quality control or you cook's trainer, I actually pay to get bad service and overpriced passable food, why should I help Spur for free in addition? Send mystery diners on your own. I do it with small independent restaurants, but boosting Mr van Tonder's bonus doesn't thrill me.

I go there because I'm forced to and it will remain this way.

PS: I'm not the first and last one to complain about this restaurant (comments on Tripadvisor confirm it).

Asking the manager to replace the food is not contacting?

I did not do it tonight because it was past 7:30 and I had to be somewhere at 8 so no time to replace it anyway.

Yes it is opinion and a complaint of which you are entitled to. My grevience here in lies with the method of approach in dealing with said complaint .

This platform has no representing persons of the brand that would allow for rectification of the matter . Instead it only allows for brand bashing and in my opinion defaming.

Quality and customer satisfaction is almost dependent on the consumer bringing to light the unsatisfactory experience.

A store that has gone over the threshold of unacceptable grading and complaints stands to be removed from the brand completely and the ethos of the customer is always right is taken very seriously .

Consider how many hundreds of thousands of consumers leave the spur store happy.

All because a few good people made sure to help the brand rectify it's mistakes and build one that's better for us all .

This owner has had enough bad reviews (that he has seen and addressed on social media and review websites) and in real life to be aware of his flaws. Yet, the flaws are still there.

Does he deserve to close? No and if he makes money, good for him.
Am I eager to go there? Neither, and tonight proved me right again and again.

I'm anyway not the target market (much more the one of Turn n Tender where I go often and am happy with and Hussar that I have yet to try) so I won't impact much.

All fair . But the it would be appropriate to edit your title to the specific spur to which you keep referring too .

If you land up there again and it is not satisfactory head office would be more the happy to deal with the situation. One store cannot be allowed to tarnish the reputation of a brand.

I was pretty disappointed by Turn and Tender the one in Waterfall but Hussar grill was top notch.
