Staffing issues compound licensing delays

too true

Lee-Ann Cassie would make an excellent councillor

Muller is however surprised to see his name on the list as he did not submit any documentation or agree[d] to be involved in any process. While he says it is encouraging to see some consumer minded nominees, it is not clear what protocol was followed to compile the list.

falls over laughing - now you're going to have to leave that cushy position at UJ and do some work :p

Not too sure why the confusion with RPM? They are nominations. As far as I remember, nominations are made by *other* people, you do not nominate yourself (except for the real egotists!).

Anyway, I would be thrilled to see that list of people take up the five vacant seats - then we might see some action. Of course, having RPM, MAD and Debbie2 in the same room with a Telkom "representative" may prove ugly.
:D

RPM if you elected... Please dont buy into riding the gravy trian :P
All the best.. Where do we vote??? Who do we strongarm?? Or whose pockets do we need to fill???

I'd rather have you there then a papi type character..

I don't feel like rewriting old stuff I have already written, so if you are particularly interested in what I have and have not done on this issue, then please see latter posts in this thread: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=47796

So yeah, so I was just as surprised to see my name on the list as rpm and MaD were. As I understand it, parliament (the PPCC specifically) was due to do an initial shortlisting today. After the first round of shortlisting, they would interview the candidates, and after that another shortlisting would be done, down to 8 names (at least). 5 of these 8 would be appointed.

Since I was well aware that PPCC did not have any formal info on me in terms of a cv, I sent through a short cv yesterday with a few paragraphs on my thinking about ICASA, what I see to be the important issues in the industry at the moment, and just a general argument for the PPCC not to dismiss me on the basis of age (or my consumerism or something like that) without interviewing me at least.

I have not really spoken to rpm or MaD about any of this, and as such I am unaware if they have submitted any such info. Maybe they have, maybe they have not, maybe they don't want to.

I have been unable to find any info on whether a shortlisting was done today or not.

That's basically where I stand.

As for rpm, MaD and I and our chances- I think parliament will have a tough time justifying it if none of our names make it through. There is actually no justification for all three of us to be excluded.

Well if nothing else comes from this, one good thing did, I know Deborah is a love, LOL! ;) Good job and I hope all the hard work pays off all the guys on that list, you never know, there might be some divine intervention in this, next year rpm's president :D
