But Kelvin sells direct to Eskom and not the city Mashaba once complained and Eskom wouldn't let them bring up that extra capacity for sale go the city directly.
Wasn't selling to Eskom was selling to other muncipalities, but it seems City Power has managed to swing it. It cost them almost 3 times last year in maintenance and repairs than the previous year thanks to load shedding. Paying Kelvin will actually be a saving.

i guess its only allowed if the anc is in charge after their hostile takeover.

You do realise Kelvin is no longer owned by the City of Joburg? It's no like whoever gets control of the City can just come in and dictate what they should or shouldn't do.

i'm speculating, what changed then?

Do we really want and ancient, filthy coal power station spewing death into Joburg and the surrounding suburbs?

Theoretically one slot today (4.5) and one slot on Sunday (4.5).

But Joburg is at stage 0.
Yeah I'd be out the same one block today, one block on Sunday so 9 hours across the weekend.

I don't understand the addressing by Eskom today. They are talking like they have no contracts in place, but that it has been approved on this last Wednesday to enter these agreements. Did they cancel their previous supplier contracts?

It is still on-going,
