I can work around the schedules if they keep to them and things don't break. Yesterday we were down soon 8.00 to 22.00 - and as I was in bed by that stage, I pretty much had no power.

Wake up this morning and get to boil the kettle and do a few things - and not long after we go off at 8am.

Will it ever come back? Yo! I dunno
 
Decolonisation nearly complete.

I can finally tell my vrc friends when they ask if SA has electricity the real truth. Sometimes.
 
Stage 8 is rough.

Stage 6 was bad enough when we had it a few years ago. Doesn't even allow much time in between to recharge batteries.

So CR lives in LALA land. I did ask what the solution to the problems, SA currently experiences? Yet, no answer. So SA has nothing to fall back on? Failed state.

The President says he is "hopeful" that Eskom has things under control... 'Hopeful' is very far from assured. That is quite worrying. What happened to that high level war room we heard so much about?

We had it for 4 hours from 6pm to 10pm, can't really gauge it on that.

Anyone who can claim to be assured will be the one with a problem, Eskom has issues and until further notice all we can do is be hopeful of the prospects.

Yes this 100%. Otherwise you’ll be replacing lead batteries every 2 years.

Lead (regardless of ‘deep cycle’ or otherwise) must never be discharged to below 50% state of charge otherwise they are permanently damaged.
Also while you’re at it make sure your charger/hybrid inverter supports lithium batteries. Most don’t. If you still use them though you will over time destroy the lithium batteries as the voltages aren’t correct.
