Star Citizen

Indeed. Very cool changes incoming. The bounty system sounds really interesting. This means people will need to think twice before just blowing up somebody else's ship.

Hi my friend, there a small chance you might already have downloaded V2.2?

No, unfortunately. Only got the notification this morning after I already left for work. Will grab it over the weekend.

Yeah same here, I was hoping to have a jol tonight with the game lol, but mine has already started to update. Must pause it though for later, it takes up every bit of bandwidth available lol.

If you go to the launcher settings, you have an option to cap the download speed. Not sure how well it works though, the patcher can be temperamental at times.

Cool thanks, yeah that helped a lot. But yeah the game updated and all. The city part I can access, the Hanger directly from the menu gives a black screen, accessing hanger from the city works. The part where you get to fly your ship, infinite loading loop. :(

OK, few things to check:

- After patching, always delete your USER folder in the Star Citizen directory. Note that this will reset controls and graphics settings back to default.
- Once this is done, open the launcher, go to the settings, and hit the VERIFY button. this will run an integrity check on all downloaded files.
- Infinite loading screen is mostly caused by the Internet Connection sharing feature in Windows. Make sure you turn it off.

Hope this helps.

Hi, thanks I will do so. Also I deleted you as a contact/friend in the game by accident, screen res was set to high and I pressed the wrong buttons. (Dee-Dee moment) If possible can you add me again please?

So just an update on this: Removing someone from your contacts list only works one way. I could still see you on mine. Hence, you have to add me back again, not the other way around. Whiplash-1 is the handle.

So how long will this game still be in "Testing" mode?
I have downloaded the patch 2.3 and will fly around over the weekend a bit. Been playing Eve online for some time, and is quite excited to try out something new and more challenging.

I'd give it another two years before they get to anything resembling a beta, i.e. something that is fairly content complete, with all gameplay systems in place. You can hold off until the game is more complete, but personally I enjoy following the development process and seeing how the game grows.

Thanks,
Hope there is sufficient content available now that I would have some playtime.
The mining aspects of the game and some of the dogfights intrigued me, but I guess most of these are not yet available?

I have played a bit over the weekend. Though the game is still very buggy, it is quite enjoyable.
Took me a while to figure out that the weapons targeting is not the mouse little circle. But once I sorted that out I managed to kill quite a few invaders.
Will keep an eye out on the new developments as the game progress from now.

Personally, I think this game will turn into one of the all-time biggest scams.

*bring on the flaming - I can handle it*

Generally a scam is something that takes your money and doesn't deliver anything. They are definitely delivering by the looks of it, especially for something at this scale. Whether they deliver in good time is an unknown but considering what a potential gold mine this game is (e.g. selling ships for $300) it would be stupid to just stop now.

A Ponzi scheme also delivers....to some.

My opinion is that this is a drip-feed scam that will be talked about for years afterwards.

I have very little doubt that this game will be culled because of some legitimate-sounding reasons in the future. Or it will be delivered as an under-baked piece of shyte. Either way, all those sending the dollars their way will be a wee bit upset....

What? Then that's just a "free" game that sells power-ups to be at the top. Only idiots would spend such money.

And if what you are saying is true, then it really does sound like a pyramid scheme (rather than a ponzi scheme).
