Star Citizen

Fk this made me laugh so hard... yeah guys. 9 years and this is the type of gameplay you have... fok. Sorry to the backers but you guys are getting taken for a ride.

If you think Fyre festival was a scam, this is going to be one for the decade!
Hopefully Netflix makes a documentary about this too

Yeah, im pretty sure they will and im sure there will be pleeeeeeeeeeeentry insider information available. Such a pity because i had such high hopes for this game, the concept and grand scale of everything is amazing..

Star Citizen released this tease yesterday,

looks nice and all, but SQ42's release date has been moved up so many times already that Star Citizen can hardly call this teaser a Christmas present which they did.

Anyhow,

Alpha: Q2 2020
Beta: Q3 2020

Release Q4 2020, Q1/Q2 2021, Q4 2042???

I full screened this and it looked terrible.

To be honest, though, the game seems to come along okay'ish. Features being added isn't unique, but they are trying to make a more complete game by borrowing what worked in other gaming titles. It was clearly another tech demo with triggers.

Also, Chris Roberts's, Cybertruck moment...

Well, after the latest patch... it seems more stable, but there will probably be another wipe nearer to March I think.

And don't talk about the roadmap...

I watch him, Morphologis (did a vid on Escape from Tarkov that I found interesting), AS Drake (small channel with bi-lingual vids about SC) and a couple of others.

Simply incredible

The problem is that for a very long development time it is still a simply incredible tech demo with a great influx of funding. I am glad CryTek settled with CIG, but CIG isn't such a good guy as they made themselves out to be in this case, but at least this is now a bygone.

I like BoredGamer's videos on the development of the game, https://www.youtube.com/user/BoredGamerUK/videos

Yeah. Christ you say anything negative in game and you can literally hear the veins in the Fanboys' brains popping. To the point where one guy last night wanted to "mute 1 player" cause he was tired of that one complaining about all the glitches in the PTU. However the point was valid since it took over 1 hour just to get to spawn a specific ship successfully.

The tech demo is F2P until June 1st,

Yeah I got to play the world's most expensive tech demo yesterday when the servers were actually working, and my i7-7700K and GTX 1080 pulled a whole 30fps at 1440p on low settings. It seems the servers are up again after being down for 3 hours.

The concept of the game is great but for us it might be a little too expensive at R1500 for the game and Squadron 42, so I'll wait a few more years before looking into it.

I backed it early but I doubt it's going to be playable in my lifetime. If you want to test it out on my account give me a pm.

I had my account refunded a while years ago :X3::X3:
I only bought the entry-level thing, think it was $25 or thereabouts. It's so little I won't bother with getting a refund even if the game never sees completion.

I don't regret backing it. The idea was sound - the execution not so much.

I backed this and SpaceVenture (in 2012), the latter though has a sad development storyline, but at least I am getting my 'Space Quest' fiction next month or so I hope.

Checked some youtube videos - this might be an even bigger disaster than Star Citizen XD
I'm confident I can learn how to code an adventure game from scratch and complete it in 8 years.

Thanks for the offer, I think I'll try the game a bit more during the free week and make up my mind about it. I just don't have the money for this game right now, so if I do land up buying it eventually it will probably be in a few months or years.
