Star Citizen

I've flown a Starfarer, albeit briefly... :D. It is a huge, hulking, beautiful monster of a ship.

2.4 is really choppy at the moment, so maybe that's my reference point more than 2.3. I should probably try the live build again just to see. I don't think they are far from a live push; PTU is on build 2.4.0L already. Stability is much better, but it doesn't run very well.

I was just surprised seeing how well the game runs for you; I'm convinced our distance from the server has an effect, but then again, if it's so smooth for you, maybe other factors are at play.

Damn, I'm going to be away for a month in June and won't have my PC with me so no SC for me until July :( Tried to get in as much as I could this weekend though.

Oh well, the game will still be there when you get back, and with some cool new features too!

I recorded some more 2.4 footage for your viewing pleasure.

I went through half the ships almost, I went back to my Aurora LN with 117 and 107 guns and some nice missiles. The multi crew thing does not work to lekker for me. Once they implement cargo I will do that mostly with the LN and have a spare LX for huge cargo containers. I will ask you guys to cover my behind then. :D

117 and 107 guns? What are those?

EDIT: Oh, Bulldogs and Badgers. Gotcha.

But you remembered the numbers? Your brain must prefer working with figures rather than words. :)

Had a really cool experience last night while testing PTU patch M. I had just taken off when someone one the station said that the ship limit had been reached and he couldn't spawn his own, so could he possibly catch a lift to Kareah station?

I duly turned my Aurora around and went to pick him up on the landing pad. Those of you who have flown an Aurora will know it isn't exactly spacious, but he managed to squeeze into the sleeping bunk and I set course for Kareah. The Aurora also had a nasty bug previously where it used to eject anyone inside (bar the pilot) into space the moment you hit quantum drive.

No such issues this time though, I got to Kareah with no problems and dropped him off safely. My first gig as a passenger transport!

Didn't record this, sadly, but it was a really fun moment.

What "part" are you guys playing arena commander ? Downloaded it again this week. Had a run around the station and hanger quickly.

Nah, I haven't played Arena Commander in ages. It was only supposed to be a test bed for the flight mechanics, plus something for the backers to play while the rest of the game takes shape.

Universe mode, aka Crusader, is where the action is now.

Great thank you. Will check it out.

Will just have to see if I can play it as I have the package that came with my R9 280x.

Check under "My Hangar" on the website and expand the list of items under you package. If it includes "Star Citizen Digital Download" you are good to go.

Alternatively, just select "Universe" from the main menu in game, and see if you can load into Port Olisar, Crusader.

Yes got it, used team viewer to check quickly on my pc at home. Have to wait till this evening to play though.

Awesome! Feel free to ask if you need some help finding your way around. The game doesn't do much in the way of handholding.

Yeah I work better with numbers, suck at names. I saw the part where you were talking about the Aurora and giving someone a lift. That was really cool, with me they just stood behind me, that worked good last time.

I'm just happy the passenger doesn't get vomited into space at high speed anymore. That was... annoying. :erm:

The most fun and annoying thing about the Aurora, when near a asteroid and you make a sharp uturn to avoid it LOL.

Yeah, that usually ends badly. :D If you're quick enough, hitting boost may save your behind.

Played the flight tutorial in arena commander last night it was very informative highly recommended if you haven't got the basics down yet.
