Star Citizen

You still need a minimum of 16GB, anything less and you'll have a very bad time. But adding more than that doesn't appear to help with the stutters.

I have 32GB in my PC and it still stutters, I don't think only the ram is the problem

Hey there fellow myBB users!

Any star citizen backers out there? I'm looking at setting up a decent Joburg group of players to arrange some events as soon as the dog-fighting beta is released, anyone out there besides me?

Ok chaps - more than 4 years later and how many millions of dollars later...what is the latest on this?

First mining mechanics scheduled for the next patch end of June. The latest live patch actually is quite fun to play, they finally fixed the space bikes and you can drive them now without spontaneously crashing into rocks.

The Reclaimer is in the game now too and it's a sight to behold when you run across one.

I'm quite optimistic this year, they have a pretty clear roadmap and so far they're sticking quite close to it so far.

Downloaded the latest release in Dec and it felt at least another 4 years from being a playable, enjoyable game. Nice tech demo at the moment with major performance issues.

Bleh. I just looked on google - can you believe it, trying to sell me something!

I'd hope so.

At this stage I'm hoping to throw some money at this in half a decade and get a very nice experience.

No way I'm alpha/beta testing this for a couple years to save 10 dollars.

I used to defend this game's slow progress, considering the development process was fairly transparent from the start (unlike normal AAA games that often get 5 years dev time before announcement), but after 6-7 years I expected so much more.

Just how committed are you to the perpetually unfinished Star Citizen? Committed enough that you'd be willing to take out a loan? If so, you're in luck. Cloud Imperium has introduced a Legatus Pack that gives you 117 ships and 163 extras for $27,000 -- you need to have spent over $1,000 on game content before you can even see the product page (without talking to customer service, at least). Unless you're buying this for a team, this is the kind of purchase you usually only make if you're either filthy rich or need an outlet for your mid-life crisis.

Is that like a long-term high-risk investment? I mean, many backers consider themselves shareholders… Last night when I had quick look at the game's criticism, development timeline, RSI still has staunch supporters.

Chris Roberts, Sandi Gardiner and Erin Roberts have all made promises long past due...

Was reading some of the comments on the Star Citizen reddit - from people who claim to still be backers and some of them only envisage a released game in about 3 years -giving it a total development time of 10 years...hectic.

The backers remain happy as long as they can see where their money is going and many don't care really how long it takes as long as it has a clear roadmap and gets done to a high quality (I'm in that group).

They have weekly webshows (these are paid for by monthly subscribers) going into extreme details on the game development which I really enjoy as I'm into that kind of stuff.

I wouldn't call myself a "staunch" supporter but definitely a hopeful one, but I only have like $60 in the game so I'm not concerned about losing anything but would really like to see it succeed. I'd say I've already had more than $60 of fun within the (alpha) game to date so I'm pretty happy. Just don't get too political with these types of things, have fun and enjoy it - nobody is forcing you to do anything you don't want to.
