The New Republic novel by Timothy Zahn hints at the possible movie direction:

Knowing the comics and novels, C'baoth turned to the dark side. His insanity also prevents any mind trickery/altering/reading on him.

Then again, the movie will probably go into its own direction as Timothy Zahn's work is standalone.

They've already said the Expanded Universe is not considered part of the Star Wars Universe, so it is pretty much guaranteed that the sequel trilogy is going in its own direction.

Oh, I don't know. But if Luke was kept a secret for a number of years before becoming a Jedi, is it not possible there are a few Emperor mini me's in the closet somewhere?

Oh definitely. The Jedi were numerous during the time of the Republic, so no doubt there are still many Force-sensitive (both good and bad) running around, just that with the collapse of the various orders (Sith and Jedi) at specific times they are not being brought to light. Just observing that suddenly Anakin's story loses a bit of its impact.
