Figured now that we have an actual trailer, we may as well have a dedicated thread.

I'm so amped for this game. I've played NMS, Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous etc. But Bethesda really understand stories and gameplay, better than most in my opinion. If this is Skyrim in Space I'll be oh so happy.

That ship creation tool looks awesome! I'm curious to test the limits because it looks you can just go ham.

There's something like a thousand planets. It puts the scale of pretty much everything before it to shame...

For a single-player game yea. Elite Dangerous has 400 Billion systems, but I believe they're just procedurally generate (at least initially) and then just sort of exist in the cloud. Having 1000 in a single-player game is nuts. Gives you an idea of the scale of the game.

Yeah I'm not counting procedurally generated environments like NMS. But having to design and populate a thousand worlds is just insane...

For the base game and Horizons, they wanted to add variety with Odyssey, but it complicated the game engine and caused way too many issues hence it was abandoned.

The gunplay looks boring

“Another colony needs your help, here I’ll mark it on your star map”

Insane minimum system specs. No way I can even try and run this on my desktop.

Though we have been enticed with gameplay I can only hope the Creation Engine can do what Bethesda has committed to. This game has now long been in development and is close to release, and Bethesda being Bethesda they do love their bugs.

Nonetheless, I am excited.

I am curious though, not in the mood to think, but are there any MS studios which use the Unreal Engine?

If the gameplay footage is anything to go by, no way you can run this on console either

Yea the trailer looked pretty good imo, but performance seemed very eehhh. Hopefully they can improve it before release.

Holy ballsack, that's heavy.

Hopefully some optimization will help, but it did look quite beautiful.

I like the small things, like the dust dropping off the cave roof when he mines.

The only part I disliked was the combat... It looked very Fallout-like which I guess is okay, but that one weapon which was picked up looked mightily unoptimised. Yes, it probably needs to be upgraded, but it doesn't inspire good shooting mechanics.

The Outer World devs kinda got it right, though the Bungie devs still do it best. It is a genre thing.

This game isn't a FPS, so it doesn't need hardcore elements, but it still needs to be a good experience.

This is the first time in 30 years that I actually exceed the specs
