I have this problem I don't understand.

As I walk I build up a static charge.
I then touch my mouse pad, my Dell screen goes black for a second.

I then go somewhere, I touch my laptop which in turn, turns off my Dell screen for a second.

The 2 Acer monitors stay on.

Why is the Dell special?

When you "go somewhere", do you go and vigorously touch yourself and then go touch your machine and mouse?

Laptop and mouse pad not directly touching the Dell
Has nothing to do with static but Windows confused with all the monitors and which one to wake first when the mouse moves. Change one of the other screens to main and switch the ports around on the Dock. Which one is HDMI and which ones are Display Port.

Nope, just like now.

Went to the kitchen, got my coffee, got back to my desk where Azure is loaded and Youtube on another screen.
Touched the laptop chassis, got a shock and the Dell screen went down for a second.

If I were to remove my jacket same thing would happen.

Ground your stuff, man.
My clothes and carpet is making me static, when I touch a metal door frame, I still get a shock when the static transfers.

The question here was more, 2 Acer screens are not affected but the Dell "Oh a static shock, let me turn off for a second for something 40CM away from me"

@My_King Out of curiosity, swop the dell HDMI/dp with one of the acers.

Mine does the same, more infrequently but also at further distances.

Don't know if it is static.
My Dell does the same. If someone switches a plug of in the tv room below where pc is, screen goes black. If my dog climb on chair in front of pc without touching anything. Screen goes black. Lighting nearby, screen goes black. I plug out anything near pc screen goes black

I have it each time I discharge static. Mousepad is metal and as soon as touch it screen goes.
Laptop only on the same table nothing touching and when I touch the laptop, there goes the screen again.

Can confirm this is dell issue we have the same static problem at work. Sometimes touching a wooden table 2m Away it also "reboots" in about 1 second. Still working after 2 years of this so does not seem to affect the screen negatively or positively :P

Yeah I've had mine for quite some time now and no issues otherwise.
