Static problem in my room affecting my Dell screen

I've got the same thing. Switch table lamp on or off, screen goes black. Mostly only 1 of the 2 screens. Sometimes also when I just sit down, or touch something.

I thought it was a dodgy cable, replaced everything (FFS), and it's not that.

Now, when it happens, I make the following utterance: lol

The power supply probably has a very sensitive surge protection circuit that trips every time it detects the slightest voltage fluctuation.

Tried cleaning the buttons on the Dell? Swopped cables? Put Dell into a different plug socket?

At work, my screen goes blank for a few seconds when someone plugs in any device in the shared desktop plugs. It is also a Dell screen.
