I can see the obvious benefits of steam, I am of the opinion that it is a bit over kill. It took me 5 hours just to retrieve my bloody password last week , and with my ISP, any install takes forever.

My verdict: DISLIKE

Dislike. Not because of how it operates, that has potential (when SA has proper internet), but because of an incident that happened to me. Had CS Source and lost my CD key. When I tried to install it a year or two later to play again, I went through the long process of retrieving CD key. I got email after email telling me to send a picture of CD key so they could varify it was my game. So I sent an email back explaining I lost it, along with pictures of the box and disc. Still, 4 times in total, I got the same response of send a picture of my CD key. Since then, I've hated them. Oh and I didn't ever get my CD key.

I find they are awesome. Dude how can you expect them to believe you?

You lost your key, that is your problem surely? Perhaps i am mistaken.

Wasn't it linked to your steam account?

Its their problem when they have a "Retrieve CD key" section. If they say they can handle it, handle it.

Can't remember the exact problem, it was ages ago, but I think i forgot everything for my account, had an obselete email or something. So went about creating a new account. Hence the ptoblem

Dislike. I'm tired of WA freezone and dirt cheap games and multiple specials every week. I want my life back. :D

So your problem with steam is you lost your cd key, your steam account info and then you want them to just retrieve all of this for? Naaa bud it sounds like steam is the innocent party here and you cocked up something terrible :D.

Haha very fair point ;) just have a problem with them saying they can. If your key is linked to your account, there shouldn't be a need to recover it. So if they say they can, it must be for people who lost their account to, which means I wasn't totally wrong :D

Yeah, if Steam could just give the game to anyone who insists they they've bought the game.

Much liked.

Their specials are awesome, so is getting games AS they go live (assuming you've pre-ordered/loaded)

You clearly didn't read any of my other posts. Don't offer a service if you can't deliver on it. They offered to retrieve my CD key. I didn't run off and cried to them, I clicked the "Retrieve CD key" link and followed the instructions.

Thanks to Steam I dont pirate games anymore... great value for money and I can never lose my games.

Like.

It's awesome that I don't have to worry about losing or scratching disks anymore.

Right, but clearly they have some requirements in order to be able to do that.
