Steam question....BF3 64bit

Sooooo...
rebuilding my machine with 64bit for BF3....
question for Steam...do i have to redownload all my games?
or can i just copy them to the new HDD?

i know BF3 does not run on steam...

Just copy and re-activate. Games will synch. The proper way would be to do a steam backup and restore.

Just ensure your SteamApps folder is backed up.
For example, I have steam installed into J:\Steam.

When I need to transfer it or whatever, I copy the SteamApps folder outside of the steam folder.

Then when you're done with your OS install, put SteamApps back in to J:\Steam, and then install steam to the same folder.

When steam launches, you have everything back.

Backup whole steam folder. Reinstall PC, install steam, quit steam (after loging in for first time and authenticated PC to that steam account), paste over whole steam folder. Start steam up again, right click on game, check integrity. Steam will download maybe 20-30 mb, depending on games.
