Hi

What stores in Pretoria gives good service regarding the Internet 5 promo?

I want to sign up for the promotion but don`t want any hassles!

Thanks!

Kolonade retail park. Everything was done in 20 minutes. Just make sure you have all the correct documents.

I +1 Fourways too ....

It did take 2 hours though - but that was including the statements and stuff they wanted. It is a very painful process though and - at times - I felt it was easier for me to apply for my homeloan than this contract ...

Okay!

What`s the correct documents to take with?

I took the following documents and it worked for me.
• Three months bank statements (some say it needs to be stamped by the bank)
• Latest payslip
• SA identification document
• Proof of residence – a utility bill with your home address on it

Cresta Telkom Shop - Walked in and 25mins later all was sorted successfully and efficiently.
thanks to the Lady any Gentlemen @ the 8.ta section.

Telkom Claremont - unhelpful, when I critised his attitude he said I could always leave, would not tell me his name, refused to call the store manager. 8ta Canal Walk and Telkom Direct Kenilworth Centre much more helpful. There is no incentive for these guys to do their job, they get paid the same whether they help you or ignore you.

I live in Broadwood, PE and have had excellent service and advice from Tertius at Telkom Shop in Walmer Park.
He had a techie check near my place and called me with the news of good signal. Shortly afterwards he called again and said that he had been instructed not to proceed as it didn't look good on their coverage map. Then a third call to advise that a techie will come to my house and check it out with a laptop.
GREAT SERVICE FRON THIS SHOP.

I received awesome service at the Hatfield branch, but there is only one 8ta lady working there. Kudo's to her, she's awesome. I was in, activated and out in 15min.

I'll avoid the Menlyn branch like the plague though, received shockingly bad service there when I took one of my friends to get connected yesterday. The salesman was rude, slow, terrible attitude and to top it off it seemed that he had didn't have a clue what he was doing. After 40min he declined her because she "had no credit record". He also said that all the 3g modems were sold out all over Pretoria, I bought the 7.2mbit modem today at the Hatfield branch. Afterwards he also didn't want to return her salary slip and bank statements! (I was running around trying to find a modem). Went back and got the documents from another salesman, the salesman that "helped" us had left in the meantime (apparently for "lunch") . Bastard.

She went to Woodlands tonight and got her contract. The salesman at Woodlands also said that she was never even entered into the system!

I also heard from another source that Woodlands has some of the best service in Pretoria. Worth a try.

I just ordered mine over the phone... Quick and painless! Only drawback is I now have to wait 7-10days for delivery!

Not sure that hole rewarded laudation. And 8ta didn't though.
First of all, 8ta didn't prepared properly all shops (but prepared contracts, what a beauty!): BEFORE you open mouth about 3G, fill all shops with modern modems. Who need that old shoes with 7Mbit? 21 is TRIPLE faster! (hope you're ready for such load?) So once I signed contract, never ever I must jump on shops finding proper modem: you do service - you provide HW on the place.
Second, again instead of qualified personnel, thrifty boss (problem not only with 8ta) hired some 'parking guys' who is only able to hand booklets. Guy who I ask for contract cancellation fee even didn't know the sum!! He spent 5 minutes to find out this and 10 mins to understand what I asked about. (and hell, 8ta wants money for all 2 years! do you believe that all 2 years will be the same quality? Same price from competitors?) And a whole our conversation were terrible: he couldn't pronounce normal english words, also speaking too quiet - I hardly understand him! Who is that? "poor unprivileged guy who needs money"?
Third, he lies and cannot even make a "sure face". Do you believe that at next day after talking, his shop will be supplied with modems and he will call you? Mu-ha-ha! Never say sh*t like this - "We will call you" is south african's "get off, I'm bored". What a result? 8ta stain its name, spending from me much more than they reward - next I'll think twice: if people cannot sell anything properly, what happen on their tech side??

Sorry for expressions, 8ta is not the worst company in SA, but "same bad like many". I'm upset such ugly service cannot be punished.

8ta: you have practically all info: No 21Mbit modems, doubtful personnel, Telkom direct shop at Cresta.
And I cannot catch the true: what is total cost of contract cancellation? (say, I used it 3 monthes and decide to leave.)

Back to topic:

I was very happy with 8ta Woodlands' service.
