Hey guys i know this is not the right place to post but iv been getting random phone calls and when i pick up, its completely dead and my DSL drops. The phone line stays dead for like a minute and when i pick up there are a few random beeps.

Definitely not a fax. Iv tried to call my house num with my cell and it says busy even after the reciever had been put back on the phone for like a minute. Is this telkom do you think working on my line or what?

Sounds like it could be that someone is trying to dial-up into your line .........

If there were dialing into my line why would my house phone ring? I find it extremely annoying.

because it's not a Dial-Up line like you would find at an ISP?

I remember when Dial-Up was all the rage (not), I had one place where what is happening to you, was happening on my line. I found out eventually that someone had entered my phone number instead of the ISP's one.

It would do the exact same thing with the beeps and the line would also be dead for a minute or so.

(not saying that is your problem, just mentioning that it could be that)

Hehe, no worries ...... hope your issue comes right soon man :)

Do you have an alarm connected to the phone line? Sometimes they neglect to install a ADSL filter on them.

No alarm connected to phones lines. Phone rang again at around 7am. bleh...
Is there anyway to reverse dial a number like the *69 thing you see people do in movies.

If you have CLI (Caller Line Identity) activated and your handset supports it you should be able to see the number where the call is originating from. (Unless it is one of those annoying 'Private numbers...)
