Strange Windows 7 problem - internet does not connect

I eventually did a format of the PC and recovered it with the recovery partition -- I was gatvol of struggling after 7 hours. Should have just done that in the first place in retrospect

Thanks to everyone who helped -- I will surely put that knowledge to work one day in the near future :)
 
Had the same problem this morning again on the Windows 7 laptops. Limited connectivity.

Resetting the router did not help.... BUT, for some reason, ICS had been enabled on both Wireless adapters. I disabled ICS and all hundreds again.

Why on earth ICS was enabled is beyond me.

I was also about to restore from an image. Bah. Phew. Pfffft.
